Good but quiet

This use to be my local for many years. I really enjoyed the beer garden that faces the river. The food is standard but reasonable priced. They have a range of beers on offer. On a summers day I would recommend it l.

Called in because they had a deal up to 4.00pm buy a meal and get a drink for a £1 Messed up our drinks order and instead of getting the drinks deal they gave me a Bitter that wasn't on the Deal in-spite of asking for the deal. The Cheesy Garlic Bread was both burnt and Dry as a Bone.... More

Visited on sat afternoon, spent 15mins waiting at bar to order.waited one and half hours for a chicken burger, when it did eventually arrive it was cold, and there was no sort of apology for the wait, arrogant staff. We live quiet close by,and have often used here for friends and family, but will not again.

Popped in here one early Friday evening in need of drink and food when in the area. It's handy just on the edge of town on the corner so fairly easy to spot. The pub has some nice features that forms part of the attraction. The staff were friendly enough although the fella seemed a little slow in putting to... More

What a shock!Popped in for pint, though I was back in the seventies..... Where are the team led by the fabulous Thai lady? She lifted this potential gem of a pub up from the bear pit it had become to a friendly ,well run family institution. Now it's a shoddy ,badly run dark sticky , dirty boozer.Food is prison standard, staff... Easter Monday. We live in Tewkesbury and had heard this pub had improved markedly in recent weeks, so we returned. £1.60 for a half of lime cordial with soda is excessive, as my pint of lager was £2.70. People in the garden were not comfortable about their food, but they eat it, so it cannot have been all that bad.... More

This is our nearest pub, but as a young couple who enjoy real ale, good food and a nice atmosphere, we would rather walk to any other pub in Tewkesbury. This should be the best in the area, with it's historic character & riverside location. Sadly there is nothing positive I can say about it. Bad beer, awful food, and... More

Place is a dive it stinks of poop and not just in the toilets. Without a refurb very soon, especially the toilets, the place will die. The sooner V And Rod are back in control and allowed to do there job the better.

I would Definitely give this pace a miss. We went for a bar meal with our 5 year old. After ordering starters and main courses, when we had waited an hour and had asked the only bar man when it might arrive a few times, we decided enough was enough. Anyone who has a 5 year old knows that waiting... More

We visited this lovely pub on a Tuesday night so it was quiet, it boasts to be the oldest pub in Gloucestershire - the interior is beautiful and certainly looks 26th century.. Well worth a visit if you are in the area ...
