Well, what a great recommendation, thanks Trip advisor, and all the people who have reviewed this restaurant before. It was amazing. I booked for myself and 5 girlfriends to go for dinner last Saturday whilst our partners were at a meeting. The reception was great, the staff very attentive and polite, nothing was too much trouble. The place was like... More

My partner and I had a table upstairs, booked at 6pm. We were the first in the restaurant, but there was no awkwardness. The restaurant staff make a good compromise between familiarity/friendliness and privacy. The menu was very interesting, including comlimentary soup and freshly made bread, and the courses arrived at suitable intervals, and was of excellent quality. We enjoyed... More

I'm not a foodie and rarely can be bothered to eat 3 courses at a restaurant but this was the exception. I had the cod as a main and there were so many subtle flavours. The turkish delight dessert was mouthwatering.

Tewkesbury has seen better days but hidden amongst the carity shops is this wonderful restaurant. Food is fabulous and the 2 or 3 courses menu makes good sense . We shared a chateaubriand which was divine. Welcoming atmosphere . Would love to come back!

We had been before on a trip to this area. After eating a dinner at Puckrup, decided to try and get in here. Meal excellent, well cooked and had many little differences to make the meal just such high quality. Also the wine much cheaper than at the Puckrup and so the evening experience, cheaper. Fine dining.

Our once yearly trip to Tewkesbury is memorable for dinner at My Great Grandfathers restaurant. This year was no exception. Better than ever was the verdict. From the tomato soup amuse bouche with luscious home made bread to the wonderful melt in the mouth chateaubriand everything was superb. Visit this restaurant and you will not be disappointed.

We were here with a party of 11 which might potentially skew my review, but the charming staff coped so admirably that this must count in the restaurant's favour. It's an intimate restaurant in an historic half-timbered shop in the time capsule that is old Tewkesbury. The surroundings are very pleasant and even though we were 11 on a table... More
