Description: With a combination of delicious food, great wines and a real ambience...
With a combination of delicious food, great wines and a real ambience, Café Rouge has embodied the style and je ne sais quoi of French dining since it opened way back in 1989. Café Rouge Maidstone is just the place to mull over the morning papers with a cafe au lait and a croissant, pop in for a spot of lunch, share a post-work drink or relax over an evening meal. The menu covers a range of French classics from croques and baguettes, ideal for a quick and easy snack, to more substantial fare such as steak frites and boeuf bourguignon. Likewise, the wines are predominately French; many made by lesser known producers, and provide the perfect accompaniment to the food on offer. If it's been a while since you've paid a visit, the team think you'll be surprised by how much you've missed them. No hassle, no rush, no skinny-decaf-double-shot-to-go, just a vibrant atmosphere that moves with your moods throughout the day.

A great cafe rouge

I do like the atmosphere in this cafe rouge whether indoors for dinner or outside in the summer. The food is always great, drinks menu is good and service is great.

I have eaten here a couple of times before with my wife and we had great meals, unfortunately this visit proved to be disappointing at best. It didn't start to well, my wife starters of deep fried camembert had very little taste although my prawns were good, we also ordered a bread which the waitress decided to take away even... More

Cafe rouge is in a great location, in a historic building alongside other bars and restaurants opposite the theatre and a stone's throw from the fremlin car park. Although it's part of a chain, it still has atmosphere, a wide range of food at modest prices and most importantly good prompt service. Although it was busy the night we visited... More

My wife & I went with a friend to this restaurant last night. A good impression was created immediately by the young lady who greeted us and showed us to our table and seated us. She handed us the menus and left us for a few moments before returning for drinks orders which were bought to us promptly. We ordered... More

Although they are a chain Café Rouge have some interesting venues. I speak as I find, and I went to the Maidstone version on Thursday night. It was busy, but the staff were attentive and the foo was too the standard one would expect .I enjoyed my meal as did my friends, however this is not a cheap place to... More

Food was disappointingly poor. Service was okay. For a real bistro experience head to Frederics across the road

After a little early Christmas shopping we took an early lunch at Cafe Rouge. The surroundings and ambience were just right with our first "festive" experience and after being shown to our table by the window we ordered a well earned beer accompanied by a delicious chicken baguette with hot skinny fries. All in all a perfect lunchtime treat.
