Description: With a combination of delicious food, great wines and a real ambience...
With a combination of delicious food, great wines and a real ambience, Café Rouge has embodied the style and je ne sais quoi of French dining since it opened way back in 1989. Café Rouge Maidstone is just the place to mull over the morning papers with a cafe au lait and a croissant, pop in for a spot of lunch, share a post-work drink or relax over an evening meal. The menu covers a range of French classics from croques and baguettes, ideal for a quick and easy snack, to more substantial fare such as steak frites and boeuf bourguignon. Likewise, the wines are predominately French; many made by lesser known producers, and provide the perfect accompaniment to the food on offer. If it's been a while since you've paid a visit, the team think you'll be surprised by how much you've missed them. No hassle, no rush, no skinny-decaf-double-shot-to-go, just a vibrant atmosphere that moves with your moods throughout the day.

Popped in for a breakfast treat

Treated ourselves to a French breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great range of things to eat and drink. Will definitely return...

The good points: Very friendly professional server. Restaurant well decorated and clean. The bad points: The food portions quality and value for money left a lot to be desired. Popped into this place for a quick bite to eat. Was not given the menu rapide option and only noticed this once we had waited for our poulet Bretton and crevettes.... More

We have had many nice lunches here so we decided to have an evening meal. We ate on a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was very quite. Promptly seated and given menus. The menu has been updated quite a lot since our last visit with some very tempting dishes. Our waiter who was very professional took our order the brought... More

I don't usually write reviews however we had my grandads birthday here for dinner and on a busy Saturday evening everything was amazing as always. The staff are so lovely, every single one of them couldn't do enough for you. I've also been here for breakfast a couple of times and that was amazing too, I would recommend this restaurant... More

We often pop in for lunch on Saturdays. The food is always of a high quality and well presented. Menus are changed quite frequently. Although is is part of a chain it doesn't have a fast food feel about it. The snails on the current menu are really tasty!

It was the first time we had eaten at Café Rouge but visited here recently following a family bowling trip. We had a very good meal with good choice on the menu. Service was a little slow but they more than made up for this by making a special effort for one of the children's birthdays with candle in his... More

I love Italian, Chinese, Thai and Mexican food but sometimes i need to have the cafe rouge difference. I went to the one in Maidstone with my wife and 6 yr old and there was a new menu. I had the wild boar to start then was torn between two dishes Poulet Breton was recommended by my waitress so i... More

We made the best of an impromptu lunch without children. Great value lunch menu with good range of dishes without then having too much choice. Smoked salmon omelette with frites was delicious, but bit of salad on side would have made it perfect. Friendly professional service, attentive without loitering. Glad we chose to pop in here rather than being tempted... More

We go here a lot because it's always been consistently good food and wine at a fair price. The prawns are so delicious and my fussy boyfriend gets the fillet steak and has always been happy with it. Staff seen friendly though last time the smoke alarm was constantly going off
