Great food

I love this place the food is always superb. The decor is a bit of a mish mash but it works. If there are only two of you on a large table ,be prepared to share as it gets very busy.

I really enjoyed visiting this cafe, found the people working there really friendly and helpful and enjoyed the food very much. Decent music, good tea and coffee. I liked the notice board which was filled with vegan info but wasn't forcing people to pay attention. Nice place, hope to return.

My previous review for Fortify, I hope, confirms my love for the food here, and our visit last week found the food to be as good as ever. Their soups are great, salads fine, and quiches brilliant. The place stands head and shoulders above most eateries in Maidstone. My only grouse, offered as a big fan, is that they really... More

I have visited Fortify over the years, as it is an oasis in Maidstone for ethically sourced food. I am vegetarian, not vegan. Generally I love eating here, but I have visited less since it became vegan as I prefer to eat a veggie diet. It is also gluten free if you have coeliac disease, and again, it is an... More

A little backstory: I'm an American who typically eats meat and other animal-based foods. My fiance lives in Rochester and I've gone to visit him on a number of occasions. The last time I went, we were staying at a hotel near Fortify and he wanted to take me there to eat. Having not had vegan food before, I expected... More

Food is delicious and cooked from scratch. A warm, welcoming and friendly place. Quirky, cool and inviting decor. The outside space is a perfect sunshine spot for catching up with friends over a great coffee. I'm not vegan, but I do really enjoy the food at Fortify. I appreciate there being a place where I can meet up with my... More

Food was really nice, service was good and the place is extremely quirky. The fact you can take your dog in is amazing! Will be coming back as we are feed up of paying to much for main stream chain cafes!

My husband and I are trying to convert to becoming vegans, it's proving slightly difficult! If all our food tasted as good as the food here (basically if we knew how to cook) we would have no problem at all :)

I went3 times for lunch-mainly vegetarian and some vegan. Dont let this put you off[im a meat eater] and the foo/variety was excellent as agreed by those I took. The chocolate and other cakes excellent. Good atmosphere for coffee etc which is why we returned!
