We were delighted to discover this restaurant. It has a varied reasonably priced menu including many quality locally sourced ingredients. Friendly attentive staff and would visit again. On the basis of our experience definitely worth a visit. :~)

This is the first time we have eaten here since John and Emma left the Billet. It was a little different but just as good. Loved the starter - whipped goats cheese with beetroot coils. Can totally recommend Jacobs ladder, a slow cooked rib of beef. Staff welcoming and a quiet end to a hectic day spent in nice surroundings.... More

We went for Sunday lunch under the new ownership. The food was great, we had devilled whitebait and hogs head roulette as starters - very tasty. We opted for the Sunday roast, I had beef and Mr M had lamb...both were perfectly cooked, the veg was great too. Obviously a very good chef in the kitchen. It is their first... More

We have been regular customers over the past 31/2 years and found both the food, wine and service to be excellent. This was our last visit under the management of Emma and John who have moved on to a different career in the food business. Everything was excellent on this occasion with the most scrumptious lamb shank main course. We... More

Visited for the first time in years - heard that Emma and John were moving to pastures new in France - bonne chance to them. As a last meal, it was a little less refined than I remember it but most of the food we had was of an excellent standard - the sardines and salt cod was great and... More

We have just returned from this restaurant after a lovely Sunday lunch of Roast Beef and a very tasty selection of vegetables, followed by gorgeous deserts. There was a generous choice on the menu and we will visit again and would recommend to our friends. The dining areas away from the bar are quieter and there is plenty of room.

We receive newsletters and details of special offers via email, some of which we have previously taken up with varying success. On receiving details of a 25% off special offer, we were pleased to visit again on a Friday evening. The welcome and service were very good and we had a pleasant table in the front section of the restaurant... More

I was taken to this pub by a good friend, who in her wisdom had carefully asked if they would accommodate my Vegan requirements. Sure enough on arrival the landlord confirmed that my meal would be available. When my friend ordered her meal I was asked about the content of my meal, which duly arrived in perfect condition and content.... More
