Description: Taipan is a Chinese restaurant based in the heart of Milton Keynes...
Taipan is a Chinese restaurant based in the heart of Milton Keynes' Theatre district. Our food combines high quality and fresh ingredients to create a very modern take on traditional Chinese dishes. And because we are independent, we can craft new dishes and create bespoke meals to cater for individual tastes. Our chefs have worked in some of the most high profile restaurants in East Asia including the 5 star Shanghai Hilton and the Hong Kong Jockey Club (Formally the Royal Jockey Club). Because of their experience, we are able to offer a wide selection of dishes of the highest quality dishes, with Seafood and Dim Sum being some of our most established and popular dishes. At Taipan, we don't do anything by half measures. Our ingredients are hand-picked by our chefs from the highest quality sources - even our seafood menu has more dishes than most specialist seafood restaurants. The quality of our food is supplemented by our drinks menu, which includes a variety of some of the finest wines and champagnes from around the world. We'll help you decide what drinks best complement your food, to ensure that not a single taste is wasted. If you would like to know more about what goes in our food, please get in touch via our contacts page or Twitter feed and we'll be more than happy to chat.

Tasty food - worth a visit

Situated in the theater district this is a fairly large restaurant (2 floors) serving every chinese dish you could want. Staff are very helpful and polite, topping up drinks and checking on you throughout. Service was quick. Food was tasty. All quite reasonably priced - cost 2 of us £70 for us both... read more

We have seriously and humbly looked into your comments. The weakness of one new chef has been identified and drastic improvements made. We took this opportunity to overhaul the Kung Po Chicken recipe and the dish is now much more exciting. We heartily thank you for your feedback. Please come and try again. More

Came here for lunch to celebrate a birthday and it did not disappoint. The menu choice selection is huge, there is something for everyone. Restaurant was very busy , but they did not hurry once, and from the looks of what was placed on other tables it all looked so delicious . Our food was excellent, the staff very attentive... More

I went for lunch with three friends at the beginning of the week. We enjoyed dim sum lunch with Chinese tea and chit-chat. Highly recommend dim sum: kim chi steamed dumpling and siu mai prawn dumpling. The raised beef with white noodle/Ho Fun Cantonese style has great favour. The table and facilities were clean, and atmosphere was very friendly. Good... More

The food was actually better than I remember the peking duck which I had as a main was fantastic and the fish special that my Mum had was devine The best review of this restaurant is that its always packed full... Last Saturday we had some friends visiting from London, and we decided to take them to Tai Pan for the evening meal. We have been dining here on a regular basis for quite a long time and we were trying to impress them by taking them to our local haunt. We ordered from their new a la carte menu for... More

The staff are friendly and service is usually fast. There's not a great choice on the menu, I prefer Oriental Garden in Northampton. The food is average, nothing special.

This is the first time we ever received comments such as - not a great choice...- Just on the seafood side we serve Dover Sole, Turbot, Sea Bass, King Prawn, Scallop, Lobster, Crab, Squid, Soft Shell Crab, and occasionally John Dory and Razor Clam and all can be done in a variety of ways. For vegetarians we have almost 50... More

went to MK Theatre straight frm work so 3 of us decided to eat. After spotting this restaurant close to the theatre we went in. Well I nearly fell off my seat when I looked at the menu - £11.00 for a portion of chicken chow mein, £12 plus for meat dishes - we ordered a minimal amount, 1 egg... More

Prices quoted by Pagan P do not correspond to what are stated in our menu. Chicken Chow Mein £11-?? Egg Fried Rice £9-?? So we just don't know how to respond. More

Some of the staff were friendly others not so. We sat at a table where there was food stains on the wall next to us. When asking about the menu it seems a lot of effort for them to explain it. The food arrived quite quickly, start and the second course the duck were ok. Nearly all the dishes that... More
