Very friendly pub

We went to the pub after reading the trip advisor reviews. The pub is lovely, as are all the staff. The menu and specials board are all freshly prepared. I had the black bream, a first for me, and it was delicious. My husband had fish and chips, not a scrap of food was left. The pub has a nice... read more

This used to be a lovely country pub. It has obviously changed owners or the owners have hiven up. We booked a table for Saturday evening. The garden is shabby and the pub is not much better. The real ale "Red Cat" was good. The service was poor. The management are happy for customers to was foul language and the... More

We've just had a lovely lunch at this pub in the glorious sun shine. We sat outside in the garden and the food was brill. The staff were really friendly and went the extra mile by bringing out a water bowl for our black Labrador, Colin. I'd recommend dropping in for a pint and some lunch if you are passing!... More

Just had a fantastic meal at the Jolly Farmer, the battered fish was excellent, the batter was so light it just melts in the mouth. The staff were very friendly, accommodating a helpful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food and first class service.

We stopped for lunch at this lovely little pub. The barmaid / waitress was very friendly and attentive even though she was very busy. The food was very tasty, good portions and reasonably priced. I would definitely pop back in here if I was in the area again.

Excellent pub food, efficiently served and attractively plated. The staff enjoy their jobs and pass their enthusiasm on to the customers. Good selection of beers, respectable wine list (could go up-market a bit with the latter), and a wonderful garden for the summer months. it is also within walking distance of the town centre, although I challenge anyone to do... Good food, friendly people, great beer! How can you go wrong? Don't miss having the hamburgers - grilled onions and Brie, yummy!

Staying at a nearby campsite, five of us popped in for sunday lunch and even though they had lots of bookings we had our lunch delivered to us in very reasonable time... and the food was gorgeous! Our waitress was very attentive to us and our 2 dogs who were spoiled with dog biscuits, we will come back if in... More

I love the jolly farmer. It all tastes home made, I've been many times and I've never been disappointed. The catch of the day is always good - great value as well.
