A lovely country pub and friendly staff. All food is cooked fresh and it was excellent. When it came to puddings, staff had to come back twice as each item I ordered was not available. I went for the crumble which could have been a bit warmer. Our server did not charge us for the puddings!! I would go back... More

My fiancé and I had a late dinner here after arriving from London. It was recommended by our taxi driver, as it is his local pub. I had the traditional fish and chips which was delicious and well prepared. Our server was kind and helpful with the beer selection. The setting of a traditional village pub was quite charming.

Went quite late in the afternoon and the food was terrible. Roast potatoes were obviously from earlier in the day and had been deep fried to reheat them - rock hard, greasy and inedible

Popped in the pub after some car trouble. Staff were wonderfully helpful and pub very warm and friendly. Will definitely be going back for a planned visit

Over the Holiday break, my best girlfriend and I were visiting the Dummer and Bakingstoke area from New York. One day we decided to go on a walk in the country side and we walked and walked until we were lost and in the middle of no where. We kept walking and finally stumbled into a pub, the Jolly Farmer.... Popped in a few times now , always friendly and welcoming . Nice traditional country pub. Not eaten here yet but menu looks different and exciting and food being served always looks fresh and nicely presented- so will be trying food in the near future. Yo

We go there regularly but as they stop serving food at 4pm on Sunday's we hardly eat there. Pauline the barmaid is really nice and chatty and can't do enough for you even if she is rushed off her feet which is most of the time. The atmosphere changes at 7 when the staff change over so we leave! They could... More

Usually good food, always good beer. A nice cycle out of Basingstoke on a summer's evening with a good size beer garden. Food varied and usually of good quality - only bad meal I have had was a beef casserole which only had about 5 small lumps of beef in it (also flavourless and not cooked slowly enough). Had a... We often eat here on a Friday for lunch when working at home and my wife has the day off. The food on the whole is very good. Opting for a light lunch we opt for the mushrooms with garlic butter on Ciabatta (starter) with chilli chips (not on the menu) or the soup of the day, eg. watercress or... More
