Great value for money meals always well presented and cooked to perfection. Excellent choice of beers and ciders served by some extremely helpful staff. It's always my first stop when visiting Basingstoke.

Good value pub grub, if you can find the location (we were taken by locals who visit often and recommend it).

Took family out for a meal after hearing about this quiet pub not far from where I live. Food was of a reasonable price but was wonderful in taste. We all had a different dish and each if us were truly amazed by how good they tasted! Staff were polite and very engaging and only too happy to cater for... More

I went with work colleagues after a short walk in the area. The pub had a good selection of beers, ciders and soft drinks. We ate a selection of "finger foods" out side at the rear of the pub. The range of food was good unless you were a vegetarian and the quality was consistently good for a pub. I... More

Very disappointed....previous visits we have had a wonderful experience. Staff were clueless in customer care. Food took nearly hour to arrive, when the pub was not busy.. Portions were small, over priced and just ordinary. Choice of puddings was limited and heated in microwave till it tasted like rubber. For a Saturday night in the middle of a heat wave... More

This place has improved over the years, the beer is always kept well. The food is quite good though it does depend on what you choose, one of our party had the burger with brie and it was exceptional, others in the party had the chicken, though the chicken was beautifully moist there was a lack of vegetables which would... definitely a mixed experience. asked for a quite table when I booked - was seated opposite a speaker, next to the toilet and by the open back door. starter was fantastic (mixed mushrooms on toast), although when it came to paying was charged for a main instead of a starter. Rump steak main was very tough and had to leave... More

The food was overpriced for what was served. You would receive a nicer meal at half the cost in some other local pubs. The bar staff were clueless and the music was loud and grungy. The whole place just seemed a bit dingy and didn't live up to it's expectations as the review looks very good through trip advisor. Would... More

The Jolly Farmer is tucked out of the way in the little town outside of downtown Basingstoke. The pub/restaurant is small and contains three main areas (outside with picnic tables for smoking and sunny days, pub area with about 6 tables, and a small dining area). The food is excellent (the pub carries seasonal beers). While there we ordered hamburgers... More
