A regular visitor to the Spruce with loads of good meals here. Went for an anniversary lunch and was extremely disappointed. We had a lovely meal here. It was very busy on the Saturday night (advise booking!) but service was quick and very good. The staff were very friendly and made us very welcome. Highly recommend!

My meal was dry and overlooked making it impossible to eat. The onions were deep fried and lacked flavour. Salad was mediocre.

New menu arrived on Tuesday but cooks have not got it right yet. Stayed in the Premier Inn next door and used this for convenience. Had to complain both nights as food was not hot and steaks not cooked right - sorry.

Daytime Value Dishes should be available before 6:30pm Mon to Sat, but when we visited this place, on a Thursday at 12pm, ONLY the main menus were offered by the staff. We ordered Loaded Potato Skins as our starter - three pieces of potato, a bit of cheese and spring onions - not worth the £4.69. For our main meals,... More

I have gone here a few times - When I was a lot younger with my parents and a few times as an adult. It has gone down hill a lot over the last few years and has become more of a drunks hang out than a restaurant. It is not child friendly and 99% of the time, the food... More

I regularly use the restaurant as I stay in the adjoining hotel which I find generally very good. Until recently the service in the restaurant has been good and their are still good members of staff that try to make your visit a good one but unfortunately this appears to be a poorly managed establishment with a newer element of...
