We booked a table for 3 persons at 7pm. When we arrived there was no one to greet us at the podum and it took 5 mins and a large que to form before staff realized. We ordered our food and both my husband and I ordered different types of steak to be cooked differently. When mine came out my... More

The restaurant was clean and tidy with a nice atmosphere. I love the food at the Spruce Goose. Especially the garlic and herb breaded mushrooms, which I have as my starter every time. The booths are comfy, cosy and private. We were seated straight away and our drinks order taken. Drinks arrived quickly. Our food order was taken and all... More

We went there for a birthday meal, and so it seemed did several others. We had a pleasant evening, good steaks and served by a friendly waitress who was very helpful. Suits all age groups, and has a varied menu which makes it a good location for a family get together.

I dined for breakfast and evening meal here for 2 weeks while staying at the adjacent Premier Inn on business. The biggest problem that i encountered was that after completing a very busy working day getting a reasonable quick service was impossible.I sometimes would have to wait 20 minutes just to receive the first drink which i had ordered on arrival.The... Yes we were surprised too. We've been to this Beefeater before and complained however this time was completely different. Firstly it seems to be under new management (thank god) the blonde manager with glasses welcomed us and was superb at her job and clearly is running this Beefeater above standard. Our waitress (Sue) was as well superb, friendly and always... More

Have been here many times evening meals and once for breakfast. If there are quite a few of you it is best to book for the evenings. Every meal I have had here has been very good and decent portions. The breakfast is a buffet, with plenty of choice and if anything runs out they will supply more.

Booked table for 3 o'clock the table wasn't ready until 3.20. We waited 25-30 mins for starters, the mains took 30-35 mins. The roast beef was not edible ! It was in chunks! And not sliced. We even question was it actually beef! It came with peas, and pickle red cabbage! Who has pickled red cabbage on a roast !... More

Table was booked 2 weeks before the date we needed for 16 people, but when we got there, we were seated 8 at one table and away from the that, the other 8 were seated! Who thinks that a family want to be spilt up on a special occasion and have to keep walking to the other table just to... More

The food was good, the staff friendly but service rather slow. The restaurant is really not suitable for wheel chair users; It's a large restaurant but decor a throw back to the 70's with dining booths. There were only 3 tables suitable for me as a wheel chair user which meant on both evening's the meal time we prebooked was... More
