Description: Resounding with traditional charm, this is the culmination of the owners...
Resounding with traditional charm, this is the culmination of the owners' vision for a Thai restaurant supported by knowledgeable staff, and enhanced by an enticing menu and elegant interior. The setting of this modest 2-floor building, dating back to a time around the 16th century, has proven to be ideal for The Lime Leaf's needs and feel. Still retaining plenty of its traditional elements, these complement the bright and vibrant new interiors well. The menu offers an excellent selection of Thai cuisine, featuring familiar classics to a range of lesser-known regional dishes, and all are prepared using the finest ingredients, sure to tempt any palate. Children are also welcome and able to eat at half price from the Express Lunch and Early Bird menus.

Very good Thai find.

A colleague recommended this restaurant. It doesn't look much from the outside and inside the restaurant is a little pokey. BUT The food is excellent and that's why you must visit! Good value for money. Restaurants in Basingstoke are plenty but mostly average. This is not fine dining but... read more

My second time eating here. I've thoroughly enjoyed the food both times. On this occasion I was able to chat a little bit with David, one of the owners. We were discussing the merits of authentic Isaan food. Isaan is where I live and whilst I enjoy most of the food at home I know that much of it would... More

My wife and I needed to recharge our batteries on the day after election night and so we managed to get a table at out favourite local eating house on spec on the Friday evening. The welcome and service were there as usual and I started off with precisely fried battered squid with a chilli bite while my lady tucked... More

The lime leaf in Basingstoke is trying to hard to make Thai food to suite the western taste. The food is not bad but lacks that authentic Thai snap that makes Thai food one of the most popular in this country. The staff are very happy to please and the presentation of the food is wonderful with decorated and carved... More

I am grateful for this review as it gives me the opportunity to make an important point. The fact is we have to cater for all tastes but as other reviewers have recognised we are happy to cater for individual tastes whenever possible. So if you want it extra spicy you only have to ask.. More

I have visited this restaurant on several occasions and have always received a warm welcome whether we are a group or just a couple. Again no matter of numbers in the party the food is always of a high standard. We also like the loyalty card we have and think the offers at birthday and anniversary times are a good... More

We have eaten here a few times over the years but this time it just fell sort of its previous level. We really felt rushed in and out, it was quite noisy and the food not quite to par. Service left a little to be desired. Not sure we will go back. Mandy C.

I am sorry that this reviewer was disappointed with her last visit. Unfortunately, she does not offer much in the way of specifics which i can address. I will only say in response to the headline that we have just been awarded TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence for the fifth year running. More

The staff in the restaurant don’t know much English and when they speak you don’t get anything and they don't care of anything you ask. Food was alright. price much high. I won't go to this and I won’t recommend.

I am sorry if this reviewer had difficulty making themselves understood. I will only say that all our front of house staff speak good English and are generally happy to answer questions. More

The lunch deal is excellent perfect price/quality! Friendly service, cater to your taste (extra coriander, chili, etc.!) and make perfect Thai sauces!

I am particularly grateful for this review as it features our lunch which is generally less well known than our evening service. It also makes the point that we are happy to cater for different tastes whenever possible. More

A warm welcome and shown to our table quickly. Drinks offered along with the Menu. A decent interval was given before orders were taken. A suitable time then elapsed indicating this was freshly cooked (and no 'Ding' was heard from a dreaded microwave). The starters were both excellent; dishes cleared away soon after we had finished. A further short time... More
