Description: Resounding with traditional charm, this is the culmination of the owners' vision for a Thai restaurant supported by knowledgeable staff, and enhanced by an enticing menu and elegant interior. The setting of this modest 2-floor building, dating back to a time around the 16th century, has proven to be ideal for The Lime Leaf's needs and feel. Still retaining plenty of its traditional elements, these complement the bright and vibrant new interiors well. The menu offers an excellent selection of Thai cuisine, featuring familiar classics to a range of lesser-known regional dishes, and all are prepared using the finest ingredients, sure to tempt any palate. Children are also welcome and able to eat at half price from the Express Lunch and Early Bird menus.

I went here with my wife and friend. Shes a big fan of thai cuisine and we all loved the taste though we felt its bit diluted to suite the needs of british but still excellent by any standards.WE had a great evening and due to the location we saw the wonderful town centre and went on to spend the... Visited Saturday evening, and reserved online before hand, which is well worth doing as it is quite a small restaurant. Its nicely decorated with small rooms upstairs giving a cosy atmosphere. The lime leaf mixed platter was good, the prawn toast was the best I have ever had, and there was a good selection of bitesize pieces. The only downside... More

We went to the lime leaf for the first time on Saturday 23rd August, we booked a table for four based on the majority of reviews from here but it exceeded all expectations! We were lost when another Thai restaurant closed it's doors and wanted Thai food to celebrate my fiance's birthday with his brother and sister in law, I... More

I came here for a business lunch and left with mixed feelings about the place. The customer service was great. The staff were attentive and accommodating. The restaurant was rather poky inside, so we sat outside and the tables and chairs were moved for us by the staff. While this was good for one large group, the restaurant isn't big... More

I am grateful for this considered review. The reviewer may have been unaware that the restaurant is on two floors. Large groups can be accommodated comfortably upstairs but the advice to book in advance is sound as we do tend to get booked up. I'm surprised at the comment about the quality of our meat as we take care to... More

The Lime is consistently one of the best restaurants in Basingstoke. We had a special event to celebrate and for that, as regular customers, the Lime Leaf provided a complimentary bottle of wine. The welcome as always was warm, the food traditional Thai. The service was as efficient as always but allowed us to enjoy the meal at our own,... More

We drop by without booking a table and they were very accommodating. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly. Really enjoyed the Thai green chicken dish and will returning very soon to try out the rest of the menu.

I am glad that we were able to fit this reviewer in without a booking and am grateful for the comments. But I would advise booking particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings. More

Dirty table tonight had to be wiped. Granted it was hot but lots of flies inside. Thought the tempura pretty average but my aubergine pad cha was too hot to enjoy, I left 3/4 of it. No one asked if meal was ok and I didn't say as I wasn't bothered to be hones. Partners chicken pad Thai just ok,... More

This was a Friday evening and as usual the restaurant was fully booked. When this couple arrived without a booking a table had just become available but it needed to be prepared. But they sat down without waiting for it to be cleaned. It was indeed close to the door but it was the only table available. I am sorry... More

and service here is good. I would like to see it go up a level with table cloths and a bit of a make over inside and out. But don't want to detract from what is by and large a good place to dine.

I had a vegetarian starter, curry and crime brûlée for desert. All done very well and very tasty. Service was fairly quick. The other diners seemed very happy too. I had to get up and ask for dessert Menu and another drink, but that's not unusual for me dining alone. I shall go back, I'm suprised there aren't more Thais... More
