Much more than pub food

Went with my husband for our Sunday night tea last week and really enjoyed it. There is lots of choice on the menu and all three courses were cooked well and presented well. We had to wait for a table even though there were loads of empty ones but that seems to be their policy. The staff were... read more

We tried to book a table for 6 but the lady I spoke to on the phone explained that being a busy weekend they don't do bookings but kindly explained that one could arrive early for coffee and locate a table of choice . We met my brother and partner and we where warmly greeted by all staff . The... More

Having just returned from a meal I can't say how disappointed I was. First a very long wait for a table, even though there were empty tables, but they were obviously reserving these in case bigger party's turned up, we were a party of five and next to us was a table set for eight that wasn't used the whole... Visited in April just for some food. Thought the menu was very expensive for what they were offering. In an a la carte restaurant steak is usually around £18-£20, and I was shocked to see a similar price in somewhere where you order food at the bar. The food would have not been disappointing have it that it wasn't so... More

A very spacious restaurant, always been accommodated and enjoyed the atmosphere. Extensive food menu whether for small or large eaters ! Something for everyone. Great for taking children too - staff are pleasant and always willing to please. A good place for meeting friends - I have been many many times and never disappointed - food always consistently good.

Arrived 4.30pm on Sunday 22nd March 2015, we were informed there was an hour wait. That didn't matter as we had driven for 45 minutes to get there. We gave our name and went and bought a drink from the bar. A pint and a coke cost over £6.00, a little expensive I thought. After an hour we were called... More

We are regular and good customers, arrived this evening at 9pm, and decided to try the bar menu. "Enjoy until 9.15pm" trumpets the menu board. We went to order, but were told "Nah! don't do this after 9.00" by the grump behind the bar. When it was pointed out to him that the menu says 9.15pm, he responded that they... More
