Not great food. Would try again the chief could have been on holiday. I had the ribs and lasagna both very plain and tasteless

Local for me. Very pleasant staff. Peroni on draft. Nice traditional Italian food. What is not to like?

visited here twice however on both occasions I was left waiting for my main course while the rest of the party I was with were served and on one occasion the wrong main course was brought. On the plus side the waiter could not do enough in writing this issue and was very apologetic.

Restaurant looks great inside and has a really good atmosphere, service was good with all the staff friendly and polite. However the food lacked flavour and tasted microwaved. For the same price there are so many better options. Shame as could be a real gem. Sorry but won't be coming back.

The food was really basic and lacked a lot of flavour. The grilled aubergine starter tasted like frozen aubergine in a breadcrumb and deep fat fried. The lasagne tasted of nothing but tomatoe and had very little meat in it. The tagliatelle casanova was nice but there was very little steak in it. The black forest gateau was a basic... More

Been here on a couple of occasions, mainly for birthday's but have also just eaten here during the week as a treat and each time it has been amazing. I had the fillet steak on one occasion and it was up there with the best I've ever had. They have a lot of special nights with tribute acts such as... More

I are here on Sunday and their Sunday menu is such good value for money with great choices. The atmosphere was also very good and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming! They did have a large party when I was there and all the staff joined in to sing happy birthday and celebrated with the guests. I'm definitely... More

Very decent starters, waiter being a little surprised that we asked for main course to be served on warmer plate. Just that we prefer our food to be hot, rather than tepid. Our steak was topped with an unusual but delicious prawn combination and the most exquisite sauce. All cooked to perfection. Pleasant but unobtrusive staff. We shall be returning... More

I dined here and had a cannelloni, nice surroundings but that's all I can say that was good. The cannelloni was a cheesefest, I like cheese but that was a joke. Have you heard about the nations health problems?

SottoventoRestaurant, Owner at Sottovento, responded to this review

Thank you for you review. On Cannelloni and Lasagne we only use Bechamel sauce, not a cheese sauce. If you are unhappy with your meal please inform a waiter who would have been able to arrange for another Cannelloni to be cooked without the sauce or provided you with an alternative meal. More
