Having allways had good food at Fannys & never been disappointed before, & see the fantastic review and pic of the afternoon tea on tripadvisor my friend & I decided to try it. We had to book 2 days in advance (that's what we were told by staff so the food could be prepared) So after reading about the homemade... More

We've been a few times, the swinging kebabs are absolutely gorgeous! It's more of an eat in and stay there for the night sort of place, not a real restaurant experience but we like to have casual dining there and the food is excellent, if you take children leave by 8pm as it gets very busy.

On May 29th we got married at Mere Hall, Bolton's Registry Office and chose the Victoria Inn, or Fannys as it is colloquially known, to have our reception. Now we are in our 50s and both married before so didn't want a big, formal hotel do, and didn't want to spend too much of the kids' inheritance. We had eaten... More

By swingers I mean the skewered meat variety ! Tasty, succulent pieces of chicken or steak seasoned and hung on a skewer with various roasted vegetables. Hand cut chips and a side salad is my favourite. I've tried lots of the food on the menu and have loved all of it. Good value for money and a great atmosphere

Family of four, 2 adults with 2 young children (7yrs and 4yrs). Afternoon lunch (3pm). Great food, had King Prawn Linguine (£14.95), wife had Piri Piri Chicken swinging kebab, children had fish and chips of the kid menu (£5.95). Really good tasty, honest food.Fair price, nice atmosphere. Highly recommended. Happy punters.

We visited The Victoria Inn last Saturday around 5pm for some 'tea'. Unfortunately, the previous diners at our table hadn't finished so we had to wait in the bar area, this wasn't a problem so we ordered a drink in the nice surroundings. After about 30 mins, a young lady came and told us our table was ready, great. After... More
