Terrific Food

We decided at late notice to pop to the Dukes Head for a spot of Sunday lunch and despite having to wait 45 mins for a table we were not disappointed. Can I say it was our fault for not booking that we had to wait, but some olives and bread at the bar with a drink soon passed the time.... read more

We often go to lunch in this restaurant. The food is consistently good, the menu is varied and there is a 'specials' selection each day, the scallops are lovely. Sometimes when it is busy, the service is a bit slow. It is advisable to book a table especially on Friday and the weekend. The only negative is they serve some... More

Fantastic sunday lunch at the dukes head, nothing was too much trouble for the waiting staff, had a couple of mistakes with the meals which were dealt with swiftly and satisfactorily. The food was fantastic especially the desserts. A great family meal at a great place.

Excellent steaks and interesting menu which changes from time to time. Always day's specials. Good price for the food against quality. Ambiance is great and so is the staff. The only thing I can't get used to as a continental european is the price of wines, absolutely sky high compared to the continent, not to blame Dukes Head for this,... More

First visit in 8+ years to The Dukes Head and now wondering why I waited so long! Fabulous service, very welcoming pub/restaurant and the food delivered to our table was incredibly good. Hot, fresh and so tasty. Very satisfied and have now booked a table for Fathers Day!!

My husband and I hadn't been here for a few years, so decided to visit for his birthday. We were slightly disappointed with the table, as it was right next to the serving hatch for the kitchen. This meant a lot of traffic from the staff. Talking about the staff, they were all very friendly and the service was quick.... More

I have attended the dukes head multiple times and have not had a single bad experience. The food is excellent; and the portions arent even too small. The service is friendly and, despite having a new operating system, fast. Would very much recommend to anyone wanting a nice meal and friendly service.

Had dinner here on Saturday night (2 May). Always busy so we always book. A little disappointed to learn that several items on the menu were unavailable but more disappointed to hear that they were out of prosecco! Shocking!! However, the evening wasn't spoiled as the food and service were very good. Looking forward to the next visit and hoping... More

Went here last night and found the quality of food and service really good! A relaxed environment with a great selection on the menu. Will definitely be going back soon!

Attentive staff and good location. Food is always fresh, don't take too long to make it. Would come back there any tome of the day, menu is always different and challenging. Lovely wine list and nice seats outside, summer time.
