We had been to Cowdray Arms before so being a bit late for lunch after our visit to Chartwell House we visited it again. They were very busy but welcomed us very warmly indeed with wonderful smiles from all the staff that we saw. All our food was excellent, service remarkable and the Landlady very friendly and caring. We will... More

We haven't been to The Cowdray Arms for ages, as we went a number of times only to find it closed and then under new management. We should have returned sooner for the pub has been changed considerably. We used to like the old place and the food was excellent but we were very pleased with today's offering. The staff... More

A pleasant evening spent here. Nice pub garden, good menu, good selection of beers and good value for money.

Booked a table for six on a Saturday evening. All in all we all had a good evening out. The restaurant was fairly busy most of the evening, always a good sign. The food was good without being over the top and the service was excellent! The French waitress (Stephanie) in particular was very attentive without being intrusive and was caring... More

Having read all the reviews we were looking forward to a really first class meal. We were really disappointed - it was just pub grub and not the best of that. One member of our party had the steak and ale pie, which was so bad that it had to be replaced with a different meal altogether. Not somewhere requiring... More

I stopped here for lunch having never been in the local area before. I'm very glad I did as I sat in the lovely garden to eat. I placed my order inside and my ham, egg and chips arrived promptly after. It was cooked to perfection and very ample. I had warm chocolate fudge cake and ice cream to finish.... More

We decided to pop to The Cowdray for some dinner this evening and pleasantly surprised to get a table so quickly as its Fathers Day. My husband at first wanted to order some drinks at the bar and was abruptly told(think she was the manager/owner) we had to get them at the table. Once sat down we ordered our food... More

In spite of its position, in the middle of a busy and noisy junction, this pub is well worth a visit. We only wanted tea, and there was a great value deal, at £2.95 for cake and tea or coffee, and even though it was nearly 6pm they were still serving tea. The meal deals also looked fantastic, the garden... More
