Our party of 14 from 4 to 90 years all enjoyed a long excellent lunch party . All the orders were ready and served together and enjoyed. We have recently eaten lunch here three times and an evening meal, all have been good meals and very good value . The staff are friendly and helpful ,we will be back. We... More

I just had lunch with a friend at the Cowdray Arms, in their beer garden in the sunshine! The baked mushrooms were yummy and I recommend the fish and chips. The waitresses were friendly and could not do enough for the customers. I had a peek inside (I had heard it had been refurbished), and I love the fact it is... More

What a wonderful surprise to be so warmly received at The Cowdray Arms. Not just my family but our 11 stone Newfoundland, Charley, too! All the staff are so friendly, welcoming without being intrusive. We like to take our dog with us when we can and we were invited in, sat in a lovely part of the building, which we... More

After the refurb last year thought we would give the place a go, never again. Ordered starters and mains. Starters were ok but staff seemed tired and bar lady dressed in 'mufti' i think. I had a pie for mains, gravy had a layer of fat on it,carrots werent cooked and like bullets, salad was limp, pie had been burnt and had... More

Came here for the first time with a group of friends, the staff were very friendly and made us all feel very welcome. The food was delicious especially the chocolate brownie for desert. Will defiantly return!

We visited on Sunday and as this was our first visit expectations were high. The staff seemed friendly enough but disorganised. My partner chose the Roast Beef and found it to be chewy with a weird aftertaste. The potatoes were luke warm and the green beans totally uncooked. My hunters chicken was tiny, chewy and accompanied by a limp salad... More

We went on a Friday night but the place was only half full.....so peaceful. The food did not match the menu description, the service was friendly but inefficient and the rose was (literally) undrinkable.

Oh, how things have changed. Closed since November last year, I believe, and 'refurbished' with a new menu, we sat down with a degree of anxiety, as well as anticipation. Having eaten here many times under the old regime, expectations were high when arriving with the nephews and niece, until the full extent of changes began to sink in... Yes,... More

My 2nd visit this year and was again impressed by the service and great food. The lovely manageress and her staff made this a memorable visit that my wife and I look forward to when we can get here again sometime soon. It is so nice to visit a restaurant where you feel the staff are there for you. We... More
