We regularly stay at the Sofitel before flying from Gatwick and have therefore eaten in the La Brasserie on quite a few occasions. This restaurant never disappoints, very good food with a wide ranging menu, from straightforward dishes such as fish and chips to more contemporary fare expected in a restaurant within a four star hotel. Good service and pleasant... More

I've eaten here a few times now, as it sits in the wide open concourse on the ground/entrance hall of the Sofitel Hotel. So as I've spent a significant part of the day travelling to get to Gatwick. The last thing I then want to do is travel into London city for a meal? It's always very busy, and quite... More

Great food, Great Service. I love the idea that Head Chef is visiting a dining area and chats to guests. Menu is very well put together. It doesn't matter whether you ordered a chicken or pheasant always looks and tastes wonderful.

Excellent food and service at La Brasserie for our Daughter's Birthday before she went off to Thailand last Sunday. Especially the great celebration plate the staff created at short notice after we forgot to make the request when we arrived!

La Brasserie was the best restaurant there. We plumped for the standard menu included in our package (hotel, parking and 2 course meal for £210), although you can pay extra for meals such as lobster and steak. The food was excellent. We did pay extra for a special bottle of wine though. Overall, worth the visit.

Another first class dining experience in a Sofitel Restaurant. La Brasserie at Gatwick North was an absolute delight after a very long and arduous day and an even more tiring and frustrating journey across England by the slowest train in the world. I hadn't made a reservation and not having arrived til 8.30pm was not hopeful of securing a table... More

They have a captive audience really and exploit this when it comes to pricing. There is an a la carte menu, a fixed price menu, neither are reasonably priced. We had roast chicken, very well cooked but very small for its £19.50 price, it came with garnish, plum with cream cheese and a chutney, all were really tasty but small... More

Staying in the Sofitel before a holiday we decided to have dinner in La Brasserie. The place is a bit of a barn but then it is in the middle of an airport. The food was OK. I had the steak and chips which for some reason is served with soggy chunky chips. I would have much preferred proper French... More

We look forward to our yearly treat of elegant fish and chips at La Brasserie. The fish is served in most delicate light crispy batter on a bed of chips with a garnish of pea puree (no mushy peas here!). A glass of prosecco completes our meal. We have not found fish and chips like this anywhere else.

Despite a busy night in the restaurant and adjoining function room, and slightly slow service as a result, an enjoyable meal was had.
