An evening at any airport can be a dismal prospect but if you are flying from Gatwick it can be turned into a delightful experience. La Brasserie at the Sofitel hotel produces food that makes the torture of present day travel more than acceptable. Chef David Woods presents dishes that are innovative and of great quality, at a reasonable price,... More

Having arrived at the airport to start our holiday we decided to dine at La Brasserie as we were staying at the nearby Hampton by Hilton Hotel but didn’t fancy their food. Wow! Were we pleasantly surprised! We had a cocktail at the lounge then were quickly accommodated in La Brasserie. The service was excellent and the food was delicious... More

Food was okay if a little pricey. We had noticed last time we stayed here the kitchen was a little slow & unfortunately it was no different this time either!

I really can't fault the food - it was excellent but rather expensive. A couple of hitches however: our order was taken after 20 minutes, no food after another 40 minutes. The order had got lost between our table and the kitchen (20 yards away). When the problem was recognised by the manager, I would have thought that the re-ordered... More

Airport hotels are not always the best place to eat, but this undoubtedly was. Service was good and the choice and service was really good. The food was well prepared and attractively serviced.

We had a very nice meal here, in the packed brasserie. The choice was quite limited but the food we had was superb - perfectly cooked and served by a very polite team of staff. Yes it was ridiculously expensive but it was a very relaxing meal and much better than the alternatives.

My wife and I enjoyed another excellent supper at the Gatwick Sofitel's Brasserie. Good service, fine steaks and a very drinkable southern French Carignan.

.......meals that we have ever had, and we have had many in our 50+ years of eating at good restaurants around the world. Everything was top notch from the service, surroundings, but crucially the imaginative, beautifully presented, and most important of all, the highly flavoursome food. And it's not an arm or leg for such classy grub.
