Description: Bistro Les Chats is a traditional French bistro where all our dishes are made on the premises with fresh ingredients. We use organic produce where practical and when it tastes the best. Our meat comes mainly from Wiltshire farms, with some specialist items coming from Rungis market in Paris; our chicken is always free range, our eggs are free range organic from Purton House Organics. Fish comes fresh daily, mainly from Cornwall, some from Scotland. Our menu changes monthly to reflect seasonal availability of fresh produce. We also offer a carefully chosen wine selection and range of French beers and ciders. Fixed price lunch and early evening menus are available, as well as a la carte. Reservations are recommended, particularly at weekends, but not always necessary. All our desserts and pastries are made on the premises and celebration cakes and gateaux can be made to order.

My Uncle lives in Swindon and we often go down to visit him with my family, every time we go to this restaurant and it is fantastic! The service is brilliant and the food is second to none. It is great value and also authentically French; a lovely restaurant.

We enjoyed another excellent evening meal at BLC. Starters were scallops and crudités followed by rabbit and duck breast. All very well prepared and tasty. The French red was also good and the service was friendly and efficient. Overall a very pleasant evening.

Have dined here maybe 4 times now and can honestly say it's one of the best and most consistant restaurants I know. Recently took a friend and she also loved it. We ate steak which was cooked exactly how we ordered it and the wine matched perfectly. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great.

The menu is in French and English. We both ordered Scallops for starters and disappointed these had been sliced and cooked in lime juice when we had not anticipated this. When paying they told us they had not charged for starters. We arrived just after 7pm and the restaurant was busy with customers but we were fortunate to be given... More

We have visited Bistro Les Chats on numerous occasions during the last three years, and have never been disappointed by the high quality of the food and the great service. Last weekend was no exception and the continued variety of the menu, coupled with old favourites makes this a great dining experience. The owner spends his time between here and... More

We found ourselves in Swindon Old Town looking for lunch and decided to try this restaurant. It was 12.15 Friday lunch time and no one else in the restaurant. We were told that the tables in the window (the best if you like to people watch) were reserved and by the time we left their were perhaps 10 people dining.... More

Staff was friendly when arrived and was eager to take your order but after that did do little else . Waited over 4o minutes for starter which wasn't very good and restaurant was not even full ! Did not have one glass of wine poured for us and even waited 15 minutes when bottle was finished and we had to... More

Undecided on what to do for dinner, we drive up to Wood St in Old Town. Before I start the Bistro Le Chat review a word of warning, you cannot park in Wood St past 18:00, this is not clearly sign posted or evident on the prominent pay and display machines. Bistro Le Chat, smelled great upon entry, service was... More

Great service at this lovely little restaurant in Old Town. I went for lunch with friends and we ate from the lunch time set menu. The mushroom soup was divine as was the steak. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Best restaurant in swindon by far! Had a Friday night reservation, unfortunately Phil the owner told us our table wouldn't be ready for the allotted time which was a bit of a pain. On arrival Phil couldn't have been nicer and set us up with a free bottle of wine. Overall the food was top notch, service although quick was... More
