Located in the centre of the vibrant city of Derby, Mansion Restaurant and Wine Bar caters to the increasingly selective local clientele, providing fabulous food and wine in a relaxed, stylish setting. Large and spacious, the airy bar-dining room is the perfect all day pick for chilled out lunches, romantic dinners or drinks with friends, food is served from 11am til late, with a 1am license meaning that your evening neednt end abruptly before youre ready. The brasserie menu here at Mansion offers a wide array of unpretentious dishes, ranging from the simplest of snacks to hearty all day breakfasts, picking platters and quick and easy sandwiches and jackets for speedy weekday lunches. However the more refined a la carte menu, overseen by talented chef Lisa Thorley, who trained in Buxton but learnt her trade in top London restaurants, is a focused selection of rich European modern classics made using seasonal and local ingredients wherever possible. Special events include ladies nights, themed music evenings and dances and Saturdays bring with them a decadent champagne breakfast.

Wow, the chips!!

What a great place for an evening meal. My wife and I booked a tabled and were not disappointed with the food and service - you have to have the chips (even if a side portion). Tables are a little close together and prices are more top end but otherwise I wouldn't change a thing.

First visit to this restaurant and poor service. Dance floor was being mopped with bleach while we ate - very strong smell and not good customer service Waitress couldn't tell us the meat on the plate, and when she did it was wrong and not even on the menu! Wouldn't go again, waste of money

Visited not long a go and it was a quiet night, came with some friends. It was ok, but not my kind of place. Still good though.

Visited this restaurant before Christmas using a Groupon voucher. There were only 2 other tables occupied and a couple sitting at the bar. We had a 2 course lunch. Starters were very nice. For main I wanted to choose belly pork with crackling but do not like black pudding in any shape or form and this dish came with a... More

Worth a visit. The food is good the booths are cool. Double check the bill. Nice place with friendly staff. Manager was working on a laptop in the bar which was a bit distracting. But still worth 4 stars.

I was a bit worried that this was more of a bar than a restaurant when we first arrived, but by the evening I saw how well the set up worked. The food was outstanding, as was the service. My only complain would be please put the heating on it the toilets!! It was snowing outside, and not much warmer... More

Dinner after work in Derby. Got there just after 1900 and while there were people at the bar, the eating area was empty so got in easily. The setting is modern with dark furniture and walls with red accents throughout. Service was prompt and extremely friendly. My starter and main were good with nice flavours. Overall a nice experience but... More
