Description: Located in the centre of the vibrant city of Derby, Mansion Restaurant and Wine Bar caters to the increasingly selective local clientele, providing fabulous food and wine in a relaxed, stylish setting. Large and spacious, the airy bar-dining room is the perfect all day pick for chilled out lunches, romantic dinners or drinks with friends, food is served from 11am til late, with a 1am license meaning that your evening neednt end abruptly before youre ready. The brasserie menu here at Mansion offers a wide array of unpretentious dishes, ranging from the simplest of snacks to hearty all day breakfasts, picking platters and quick and easy sandwiches and jackets for speedy weekday lunches. However the more refined a la carte menu, overseen by talented chef Lisa Thorley, who trained in Buxton but learnt her trade in top London restaurants, is a focused selection of rich European modern classics made using seasonal and local ingredients wherever possible. Special events include ladies nights, themed music evenings and dances and Saturdays bring with them a decadent champagne breakfast.

We have seen it had good reviews and found a deal on Groupon - two course lunch for 2 for 12.50GBP. Mansion have a Deals Page on their website that has lots of offers. It's really easy to make a reservation online - you get instant confirmation and email reminders. The website menu and prices are slightly out of date.... More

First impressions can be so deceptive. I thought it would be another bar meal but service, food and company turned out to be outstanding in every respect. Braised rabbit starter was delicious, beautifully presented and enticing while the sea bass hit the spot. Well done Mansion

Casual dinning near Derby railway station. Always good service and the girls like the Benjamin Champagne!

The food is really good and excellent value, we need to keep this restaurant a secret. The last thing we want is the Michelin inspector visiting and awarding it a Michelin star as the food is good enough but we don’t want the price to go up.

Visited with my parents and enjoyed the lunch time menu. They both had a voucher and cost regularly but this was my first time and won't be my last. I had the blue cheese and garlic mushrooms for starters. They were fab and very filling. For main I had the chicken on a spinach & chorizo risotto. Again very beautiful.... More

We went on the back of a wowcher deal for Sunday lunch. We parked easily outside though this might be different once the bridge is back open or at different times. We had to pay to park though. The restaurant was nicely set out and it didn't feel crowded at all. Service was good and attentive. The food was gorgeous... More

We booked a 2 course a la carte with cocktails offer and were very pleased with the service and food. We had a trainee serving us but she was closely monitored by another member of staff. Service was attentive and well paced, meals very well presented and food was great. Our daughter has eaten at mansion a few times and... More

Ate here lunchtime on Thursday and was less than impressed with the surly waitress who struggled to smile and was if the truth be known rather rude. Food average but they got it wrong initially so had to wait whilst others ate. Greasy chips and bland risotto. Won't be returning in a hurry
