Thank goodness Derby has finally got a decent Italian restaurant. This is a nice family run place. Proper Italian. No ding-ding microwave food here i.e Frankie and Benny's ersatz 'Italian' corporate American chain. Everything is cooked properly. I've now eaten here several times and can't fault it. Reasonably priced too. Very nice Italian fella front of house who welcomes you... More

My girlfriend and I visited Cucina last month on a Saturday evening. Looking through the internet to try and find a menu, we were surprised we couldn't find one. Nevertheless we were still looking forward to the meal based on Tripadvisor reviews. Starting with the positives... upon arrival the décor is welcoming, the place had a quaint Italian feel to... Visited with friends based on trip advisor rating. Small, family run trattoria with friendly service. Shared a couple of garlic breads and anti pasti platter, lovely, the garlic bread was fresh, hot and overall one of the best we've ever had. Two lasagnes - generous portions, arrabiatta pasta, side salad and belly pork with crispy crackling served on rhubarb with... More

I've lived in Derby for 12 years and I didn't know about this place until yesterday; It's a great little place with a relaxed cafe atmosphere, but the food is great for an evening out with friends or a casual date. The evening we were there was very busy. Service was still attentive and it's good value. Recommended.

There were 4 of us dining for my sons 18th birthday. In the afternoon they rang and checked his age. When we arrived the table was decorated and helium balloon floating above it. The food was gorgeous the service was excellent. Lovely warm friendly atmosphere. A great place to celebrate any occasion. Highly recommended.

We were a party of 8. The staff are very friendly, efficient and did their best to make our evening enjoyable ... and the food was good too! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a relaxed evening with traditional Italian cuisine. We all decided we would return.

Lovely restaurant, great food, attentive service and excellent value. We visited on a rainy Friday evening and when inside it was like being in a family run restaurant in Italy. Perfect menu options, all at great value. Lovely house wine, anywhere else would charge £30 per bottle, here just over £10 and the best gelato ever to end the meal.... More

This is a great Italian, really good food at very reasonable prices plus a bottle of good house red or white wine for £11 - very hard to beat. The service is excellent. A really enjoyable experience, we will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Highly enjoyable meal, great atmosphere despite being a 'quiet' night, a real buzz. Staff very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The lamb and pork belly simply delicious a very balanced meal. Polenta chips great with the garlic sauce. Will definitely be back!
