Located on the Midland Road in Derby, a street filled with restaurants and cafs, The Viceroy Restaurant stands out as one of the most stylish dining destinations in the neighbourhood. Smart and upmarket, the dining room at The Viceroy is filled with modern furniture, plush carpets and colourful lighting, and the sophisticated atmosphere is suitable for dinner with family, clients or friends. The menu is extensive, but The Viceroy Restaurants specialty is Desi cooking a traditional home-style of Indian cooking full of flavour and cooked over slow fires. Only a two minute walk from the Derby train station, this restaurant also has affordable prices as well as a fantastic selection of wine.

Nice cheese naan

Quite a smart restaurant (by local standards), good service, not cramped. The food was nice though I couldn't really say it stood out against similar offerings nearby. The chili/cheese naan was good though - loads of chewy melted cheese through the middle of it that make it feel like a bit of a... read more

Derby has a good selection of Indian Restaurants particularly around London Road Anoki I would say is by far the best but the Viceroy is probably next although they seem to have copied ideas friom Anoki ie dress flowers but no Bollywood . Open on Sundays which is useful

I don t understand where these excellent reviews are coming from..I love Indian food but the viceroy is like going to McDonald. The naan bread was appalling very floury. the food smelt of hospital and would be worth paying extra just for quality food..v disappointed especially the naan.

I have spent time in India, staying at the Taj in Delhi, Udaipur also. Even time spent in The Oberoi Guragon and Udaipur and I have to say the Seekh kebab was absolutely excellent, chicken Chettinad fantastic and service great! Very attentive. I recommend the viceroy wholeheartedly and will definitely return. Thanks gents. Top restaurant.

Greeted by a charming man in Indian costume. This restaurant was an oasis of eastern delight.
