Located on the Midland Road in Derby, a street filled with restaurants and cafs, The Viceroy Restaurant stands out as one of the most stylish dining destinations in the neighbourhood. Smart and upmarket, the dining room at The Viceroy is filled with modern furniture, plush carpets and colourful lighting, and the sophisticated atmosphere is suitable for dinner with family, clients or friends. The menu is extensive, but The Viceroy Restaurants specialty is Desi cooking a traditional home-style of Indian cooking full of flavour and cooked over slow fires. Only a two minute walk from the Derby train station, this restaurant also has affordable prices as well as a fantastic selection of wine.

The only place to eat Indian

We are very regular customers of the Viceroy, in fact, I wouldn't eat Indian any where else. Food is of the highest quality, it's presented beautifully and the service is always first class. We can never really make up our mind what to have, so we most often go for the full banquet. Dish after dish... read more

We had the most fantastic experience the best you could hope for. Jay was attentive, helpful and pleasant and even gave tips on how to get curry stains out of your clothes. Nothing was too much trouble and we'd all thoroughly recommend a visit☺☺

Dinner date with my sister and our first time at the Viceroy. Very welcoming by the staff. Booked at table and was seated straight away. The staff couldn't of done enough for us made us feel very welcome. The food was beautiful, loved how the waiters came and topped up our wine when the glass was low. Lovely restaurant and... More

My wife and I visited Viceroy to try their early bird menu of four courses for £15. We were not disappointed! The poppadoms were light and crispy with a lovely selection of pickles including one that one of the (very attentive) waiters explained was his grandma's recipe. Spicy and sweet at the same time. The starters were a stunning selection... More

Despite many Resturants to choose from we never go anywhere else. For personal reasons we usually have a takeaway. All meals come with popadoms and pickles. The food is always excellent and the quality never changes. Comes packed in a carton with handle. Cannot recommend It enough.

Went to the Viceroy in Derby last night for a straight down the line curry of poppadoms and pickles, lamb curry and bread. Poppodoms crisp and grease free, but pickles a bit fayne dayning. The chunky, salty, oily stuff in jars from Pak Foods is better than this healthy liquidised glop. Lamb curry really good, though no better than you... More

I have dined at this restaurant many times over the years and have always found the food to be authentic and delicious. The staff have always been friendly and competent and the price accurately reflects the enjoyable Indian dining experience that we have received on each of our visits to this classy restaurant. We will be back!
