Great Location

Visited for the first time on Bank Holiday Monday. Really enjoyed our visit, the cavery was great and they also offered a great selection on the a la carte menu.

set beside fishing lake and in the countryside provides good location for traditional Sunday lunch. Plenty of choice meats and lots of different veg Can get busy and best to book at busy times. Beef very rare and a little tough but can have chicken ham or lamb shank

Family of four - we visited the Coopers Arms today for the first time and we were anticipating a fabulous meal and dining experience having read the recent good reviews. Three of us had the carvery beef and my wife had chicken. We all agreed the meat was dry and our boys left most of it. On the plus side,... More

We made a last minute Sunday afternoon decision to go out for a carvery and decided to go to the Coopers after reading a trip advisor review stating that they offer the best carvery in Derbyshire. When we arrived, there were no tables in the restaurant but were advised that we were welcome to sit in the bar. There was... More

We choose to dine here for Sunday lunch, as much as I enjoy the delightful carvery, this is one of the few places where you can explore the menu further even at busy times. Ordering such meals and Lamb shank or Chicken in white wine sauce can result in an unusual combination quickly served food from anywhere on the menu.... More

Such a lovely old place to dine out. Had the Sunday carvery which was very good even though the place was absolutely jam packed with diners. Lovely outdoor seating area too.

Dropped off the A500 for an evening meal to break up a long journey. Impressive listed building. Honestly say the best pub food we've eaten, all food cooked from fresh and locally sourced. Steak and ale pie (30 mins cooking time) and 12oz gammon as mains, absolutely outstanding. Selection of real ales available though only had one! Staff brilliant, even... More

As we walked down the stairs to the restaurant, we read the faded newpaper features about The Cooper's Arms being the best pub in Britain. We were ready to be impressed. We were, I cannot say "greeted" by a female person. She asked if we had a reservation. I said we hadn't and we received our first frown. She ordered... More
