It is nearly 30 years since we left Harrogate, and The Drum was going strong for at least 20 years before that, so it was with great expectation we visited this week. Quality lasts. I can't say more than that. The welcome by the staff was outstanding, we were the guests of another couple but they made it their business... More

We went on a very busy Saturday evening and had the July special menu of lobster for the main course. The starter and dessert were both very nice but the star of the show - the lobster - was so overcooked it was the consistency of rubber. The thermidor sauce was not very typical and was characterless. Perhaps it would... More

Went here just after the tour de france had been to harrogate so we were concerned that they would be tired but shouldn't of worried. Meal was lovely , Very very good service. Had a lovely bottle of white wine - the name of which I sadly cannot remember. Would definitely return when in Harrogate. Lovely deco and very nice... More

Located in the heart of Harrogate the Drum and Monkey offers a very good menu of fresh fish prepared to your liking. Starters are perhaps on the shy side for the price you pay but the lobster usually makes up for it.

One of the best meals i've ever had! My parnter who is a Chef and I both came here on our first date a few months back! He had the scallops for starter and the mix sea food platter dish for main. I had salmon pate and fish pie. Both of us we're delighted by the food!! You could tell... More

This famous eatery should be on everyone's 'must try' list. One of the best fish restaurants around ( not just fish though!). Under new ownership but still has the 'old fashioned feel and service. Standards are the same. Very nice new owner

If you read a few reviews on this place then the story reads like it was superb a few years back but now fails to live up to former glories. That may well be the case, but it does not detract from the fact that the food we enjoyed was excellent. Our main criticism would be that the service was... More

We dined here, for the first time, the Monday after The Tour De France had occupied Harrogate. Despite the frantic activity of the weekend the staff were still bright, cheerful and attentive. There is an early bird menu offering two courses plus a glass of wine for just £20 a person but we went for the a la carte with... More

This restaurant is tiny, I mean really tiny. The little marble-topped tables are all crammed into a tiny bar with quirky Victorian decor. The service is impeccable and the food is lovely. I had a crab salad, which was very nice. As it is so small, it would be a good idea to book. I was lucky to get in... More
