Excellent as ever

Visited for lunch last week and the Welsh rarebit was beautifully presented and very tasty. Our friend chose the roastie toasty which she said was full of lovely flavours and my husband selected a panini. All were served with a lovely salad. All the staff are friendly and although we had not... read more

Walking around harrogate and noticed this cafe. Entrance is through the sweet shop but it is a lovely place. Just had tea and cake but everything was presented nicely. Good selection of cakes. Tea pot warmed and also came with extra hot water. Slice of cake was delicious. Good selection of sandwiches and hot food. Everything reasonably priced.

First floor full so went up to the second floor where it's cold and you get no wait service (you order and pay before your food) also no menus on this floor, why ?! Definitely felt second class than all other previous visits to first floor. Tuna jacket fine, veggie clubbie was very odd, a dry sliced egg and sad... More

We went here on spec on a recent visit to Harrogate and would recommend it. It's upstairs, above a large confectionery shop, and is your very traditional cafe for tea, coffee and a light bite. Slightly faded elegance would best describe the decor, to fit in with its old fashioned name I expect, but the food and service are all... More

This lovely, friendly tearoom is on a first floor through a shop. Not very good access for disabled people as there's no lift but a charming find if you're able bodied. The food is really lovely and so many gluten free options! They had gluten free quiches (not dairy free) and their own homemade baked beans which are yummy! They... More

Food very good, service was excellent. Owned by a young lady who is obviously very hardworking and industrious. Only down side is that it's on second and third floors but no lifts, having said that it is an old building and probably wouldn't fit a lift

We were looking for another place but came across the signs for this cafe so decided to try it. It's above Farrah's shop, nothing special by way of decor but with large windows looking out on the green so light and a pleasing aspect. Definitely service with a smile and fast and efficient too. Unfortunately not so pleased with the... More

A nice surprise find above Farrah's sweet shop. We couldn’t get into Betty’s and Farrah’s didn’t let us down. Doesn’t have the atmosphere of Betty’s or the price tag. It does feel like you are in someone's house, a warm homely feel to it. Staff were friendly and polite. If the 1st floor is busy, were the counter is there... More

If you didn't know that there was a cafe upstairs, you probably wouldn't visit here. It's good quality at a fair price. The menu isn't massive, but there's enough for fussy eaters to be able to find something. The staff are polite and the service is friendly. If you're looking for a good 'old fashioned' type of café/coffee shop, this... More

The fragrance of this cafe's sweet shop in intoxicating and wafts our into the street and is truly amazing. Making the effort of climbing the stairs to the first floor is well worth it. The On Stilts toastie I had (stilton and other goodies) was exceptional and my brother in law greatly enjoyed his sandwich as well. The teas and... More
