Afternoon Tea.

Avery nice place to stop in and get a "cuppa". I enjoyed our visit. It was pretty in side and carried all kinds of Harrogate goodies. The cafe is upstairs. Good scones and the food is very nicely presented and the staff friendly and sweet.

I must admit the comments from a previous review are quite right. Get rid of the plastic flowers and the net curtains. Couldn't complain about the coffee and the cherry shortbread, it was very nice. But the cafe does need a bit of a face lift. Staff were friendly enough. Farrah's sweet shop downstairs is well worth a look round.

on entering the café my first impression was tired and needing some T.L.C . plastic dusty flowers, dirty old lace curtains to barred kitchen window, not very appealing . Although a lot of young staff on duty they seemed disorganised and we waited a long time to be served. we ordered two coffees a slice of cake and a scone... More

I had the hummus sandwich which was very tasty. My grandmother had the rarebit which was extremely burned but being quite shy she ate it regardless, the bacon that came with it looked old. Our drinks came quickly but we're very small, (both coffees) we were not made aware there were different sizes and were given the smallest. As it... More

We went here with my niece who is lactose intolerant. She had a good selection to choose from while we had a bowl of homemade soup. As we had had a very large breakfast at our B & B we didn't want much to eat - but were able to take away sandwiches to eat later. They were part of... More

I always find it miserable going to tea shops with friends as I am lactose intolerant and cannot eat any of the goodies on offer. The Palm Court was heaven for me since there was a plethora of dairy free cakes and quiches on offer. I had a sumptuously, moist carrot cake and my friend had a divine chocolate cake... More

A very relaxing late lunch/afternoon-tea, I chose the home-made soup (carrot & coriander), followed by home-made coffee & walnut cake. Both absolutely yummy! Tried the iced elderflower tea, which was different, but refreshing. If I lived locally, I might just be in here every day! Then just the small matter of the wonderful food hall downstairs - so difficult to... More

We stumbled across this little place to get out of the rain and to my delight there were many gluten free options. I was able to have my first quiche since being gluten free, followed by a yummy and generously-sized homemade Bakewell tart. Lovely service and quirky location too.

This was a fabulous find. Perched above a sweet shop, it doesn't exactly shout its presence. but go upstairs and peace reigns. The cake selection was extensive and they all looked almost too good to eat. The tea and coffee selection was comprehensive and was all served in a calm, friendly manner. No need to queue, no need to break... More
