I took my Mum to Sophie T's as a Mother's Day treat (having been here previously for scones with a friend). Once we were seated it took rather a long while for our order to be taken, people who arrived after us received waitress service at least 15 minutes for we did - the tea shop was not particularly busy... It is difficult for me to address staff issues when the review is more than 2 months old. However I can assure you that our cakes are all made on the premises and the tea cosies are all hand knitted by the very talented Ruth. More

Visited Sophie T's lovely teashop for afternoon tea with my daughter and couple of her friends for her birthday, I had booked in advance as know it gets busy, I'd forgotten that due to half term we'd have her friends young daughter with us but the ladies managed to get an extra chair at our table. Have visited before for... More

Reading through previous reviews on busy days, I decided to book in advance for a Saturday, via their Facebook page - very convenient and efficient! Location is lovely too, and accessible from all areas of Peterborough with ease. You can either park in the Pub car park next door, on in front of the shop on the road, and there's... More

The best afternoon tea I have had anywhere, but we also ordered the tomato and lentil soup to start with. We were told it has basil in it so its a bit spicy. We like spicy food, and any way how spicy can basil make it? It was completely inedible. I think the chef had tipped a whole container of... More

Thank you for your review I am sorry that you feel that your experience was spoiled by the soup. However we sold several bowls of the same soup the day before and all were eaten with no adverse comments, indeed two customers said how much they enjoyed it. The waitress was correct to point out that the soup was spicy... More

Beautiful 1940's Teashop. Vintage China cups and saucers, tablecloths and a gentleman playing the Piano providing background old time music. You can even have a read of a 1940's newspaper. Delicious sandwiches, great choice on offer, Home baked scones with jam and clotted cream and a wonderful choice of home baked cakes, the Chocolate Cake is just Wonderful. If you... More

This place exceeded our expectations! We walked in to this cosy little teashop (after pre-booking), there was a man playing the piano (which was a lovely touch!), we were then seated and given a menu (the staff were so lovely). Our Afternoon Tea arrived (x3 Sophie T's Special) and we got stuck in, absolutely delicious! All the cakes are freshly... More

Had a lovely afternoon tea with endless pots of tea. Gluten free option was very nice. Service good piano music in the back ground was a plus. Meeting up with friends Made it an all round special afternoon. This is our families meeting place of choice every time.

A trip back in time, a small but friendly tea room with a shop, memorabilia from 1940 worth a visit, but you may have to book.
