Lovely environment, food and people. Altogether a perfect lunch for a cheap price. Such a busy little place and popular with people. Couldn't have asked for better service even though it was busy. Better than any chained teashop! I will return.

We took our friend for a surprise birthday lunch. we chose the sophie t special. There was lots to choose from and it is very good value for money. The food was fresh and very tasty especially the fruit scones, they were very fruity with a yummy taste of cinnamon, wish I could buy them in a bulk buy as... More

A splendid place to relax and the food is to die for. I cannot rate this quaint 1940's little tea shop enough. The welcome is second to none. My cousin came down from Scotland and we headed straight for Sophie T's. Ooooo and those cakes. All I can say is YUM YUM YUM! Go there and you will NOT regret... More

We were given a gift token to spend at Sophies so we went for our lunch. We both had the plough mans which was really very good. Very fresh and a good choice. We tried a slice of cake which was all so very nice. A lovely meal and plesent staff.

My wife and I visited to try out afternoon tea recently prior to a planned visit with friends. We visit around the area for afternoon tea, for a day out, so we're fairly good judges. Sophie's is a quaint place and we were welcomed very nicely and ordered afternoon tea for 2 with Earl Grey tea. We received the Earl... More

Thank you for your comments. Menus are placed on the tables to enable customers to make their choices and the price structure is quite clear. I took the order and the request was for 2 cream teas with Earl Grey tea and fruit scones. There were no other "eats" requested, no sandwiches or cake were eaten or ordered. (Makes me... More

We popped on for tea and cake on our lunch break from work. We all opted for tea & 3 mini scones with jam & cream for £4.50. We all initially thought that it wouldn't fill us up but it certainly did. The scones were freshly home made & very tasty. Loved all the mismatching old china and the welcoming... More
