This is the second time our parents have taken us there for lunch when we have visited them in the last year. The title of this review says it all. We were not very impressed with the place. They got our order correct and the waiting staff were helpful and relatively quick to serve us, but the... read more

Went there with my wife and 2 children, for an evening meal. We usually go during the day for lunch when the children are at school to unwind and relax. As a wheelchair user, i found it difficult to get "noticed" after being IGNORED 3 times by the bar person, when trying to order food for my family. He was... More

I used to love going to the ramblewood, but the past few visits have been really disappointing. I have given them enough chances to get it right I won't be going again unless I hear things have changed. This week I had fishcakes, which were more cake than fish. They supposedly had ginger and spring onion (I think) in, but... More

Went to the ramblewood last week or so with my husband and another couple, and we all really enjoyed our evening. We were greeted by a polite young waiter who showed us to our table while our husbands went to the bar. Me and my friend want ed to annoy my husband, so I asked the waiter if he would... More

The restaurant staff I found very friendly. The food was very nice and price reflects that. I do think the price for a Bootle of wine was a bit on the expensive side.

The food here is ok, nothing out of the ordinary, typical pub grub. The worst thing about this restaurant, seeing that this is attached to the hotel is , IT IS ALWAYS COLD. It is therefore not very welcoming, especially on a cold winters night, it is nearly as cold in as it is outside. Service is spasmodic Not a... More

I went here with my friends after visiting the spa next door. This outdated looking restaurant was a huge disappointment with their 1970s chairs & unintentional 'shabby' ambience. We asked for 2 pots of tea & he wasn't sure if they had 2 teapots? Then he returned & explained they had a small pot & a 'huge' pot, which turned... More

I went here as part of birthday treat after being next door to the Orton hall spa and was very disappointed ! The customer service was shocking. The entire time we were there the staff were plying on the machine and continuously swearing f*****g b******s the member of staff got told once to stop when an elderly lady went to... More

After we hadnt been into the pub for almost a year now we decided to go back. Always quite enjoyed the place. Unfortunately we waited too long to be seated. 4 people took it upon themselves to find a table and a table of 6 joined us in waiting. The bar was very busy. We could only see 2 members... More

I stayed at the hotel next door and decided to have lunch here upon checking in. Our waiter mistakenly got our order wrong but was extremely quick to accept responsibility and gave us a round of complimentary drinks. The food was okay but nothing compared to the food served in the hotel which was of a far higher standard.
