Bland, dry & over cooked

I had a meal there tonight and I've never had worse food than what was served to me. For starters I ordered the salmon fish cake which seemed to have been deep fried and was over done, this tasted bland and did not have much flavour. Then for the main course I ordered the mixed grill, I've never... read more

We were staying at the hotel next door after our morning walk and visit to the excellent steam railway we stopped for lunch. It was a cost of £8 each for a chicken wrap that took 45 mins to arrive and didn't taste very nice. Meanwhile on the table next to us a poor child was choking on a piece... More

Popped for a pint on the way back from a meeting....... Waited almost 5 minutes to even be acknowledged let alone served. Very young staff who were more interested in their mobile phones whilst sitting on the restaurant steps.... The scruffy one with glasses needs a personality implant!! Appeared to be no management to supervise the staff, which is probably... More

I stayed at the BW on business, having had a great experience at their Skegness hotel. On entering the restaurant the menu did look poor to say the least. So I braved what seemed like a safe choice and had a chicken fillet burger n chips. One Over cooked, dry and tough burger later, coupled with a side of soggy... More

Had a carvery and was better than average. The chef took great care to make sure vegetables were kept hot and the portion of meat was exceptional. Average price but upside is the carvery is available everyday . Venue was disappointing and were expecting something better as it is part of the Best Western empire. The restaurant looks very tired... More

Lovely building decorated beautifully with a real tree! Food was amazing everything cooked perfectly and good portions. Staff were brilliant especially Jocylen who looked after us superbly all day!!... More

My rare steak came out cremated.dining room very cold.three different waiters served us and only a handful of tables in use.a disgraceful show.only one out of four real ales available.upsetting staff at a large local caravan site has done this place no favours at all, my wife is a better cook. Sack the chef.
