Friendly, helpful and yummy.

As usual, lovely fish, well cooked, fresh and attractively served. We were a group of five who just turned up and were made very welcome. I personally find the portions a bit big but the others in the group loved it.

We visited on a busy Saturday evening with our friends. I must say we was unsure to start with as the member of staff we was greeted by in the bar area wasn't pleasant and we wasn't made to feel welcome. However, this was very quickly forgotten about. The menu was fantastic, so much choice lots fresh fish, homemade dishes... More

There could be a lot to like as the menus and fish produce are good, we often pop in for a drink with a view to eating, but nearly always end up going to the Bell just down the street. We feel that the decor is in need of a freshen up, some of the waiting staff make you feel... More

Excellent restaurant serving excellent real ale and some of the best food I have ever had! Some would say its a bit pricey, but its worth every penny. You have to eat there!

There was a lovely fire in the bar which was welcoming on a cold night but it was quite chilly in the main restaurant. The interior could do with some updating especially a lighter wall paint to enhance the environment. As a fish eater the menu choice was excellent. Unfortunately we were told to make selections quickly as a large... More

Just visit this Pub/Hotel just for the food it's really good. The hotel itself is well managed by staff who are recruited for their ability to handle people and making them feel number ONE.

Let me say from the start, I like this Pub, it's one of my favourites and I go fairly regularly. But, on this occasion it fell very short. The fire in the bar was welcome and we stood choosing our meal from the specials board. I opted for monk fish tails in a cheese sauce. After a wait we were... More

9 of us went to the Cheese for Sunday Lunch, I have not dined here for some time now and I am wondering why I have left it for so long. I omitted a starter as I knew that the potions are not on the small side, but my friends ordered brie in ginger and crevetts, the fact all plates... More

We have been to the Stilton Cheese a few time now as it is a good distant to meet friends from different locations. Have alway been very pleased with our food. 11 of us went for Sunday Lunch and were not dissapointed. Yet again a lovely welcome and great food. There was one person who had the beef who said...
