I am very lucky that The Cuckoo is my new local pub having moved to the area recently. It is within a 10 minute walk of my house so my boyfriend and I visit quite regularly whether it be for a drink or lunch/dinner. The food here is always excellent, very homely and tasty. This Sunday we took friends for... More

This is definitely an above-average public house restaurant set in village surroundings. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the menu had some interesting options for all courses. Fortunately during our visit the weather also behaved itself so that we were able to sit outside and eat and generally soak up the atmosphere of the outside gardens. The food... More

A very pleasant lunch in the sunshine added the polish to a great meal. Service was great and they weren't 'arf busy... A good selection of real ales to compliment the food and with substantial desserts to follow it was a memorable day. The coffee was weak and lukewarm. Apart from that, it's a good place to grab a bite.

I come to the Cuckoo reasonably regularly, as it is a great pub, with lovely garden and a great menu, I have never been disappointed with the food or service, even when they are busy. This particular visit was a business lunch on a sunny day, so we sat in the garden, yet again the staff were attentive, friendly and... More

3rd visit, en route to hotel near East of England show ground . Worth coming back to always welcomed even with dogs (outside) food very nice and reasonable, enjoyed the dessert particularly, The barman did not know how to make drinks advertised !! Didn't know what Cassis was.. Never mind it was still very pleasant .

We met friends for Sunday lunch and we were very happy with the staff, the meal and the surroundings - all very agreeable, we will go back again no problem.

So after venturing back to the Cuckoo after a year off due to poor food, poor service and being very poorly afterwards, there was a glimmer of hope that the owners had for once listened to all their regular customers about the problems. I ate there a couple of weeks ago and it was great. Last night however was a... More

My wife and I ate here recently. We ordered a sharing platter as a starter and a steak each for main course. First issue was that the steak was brought to the table before the starter. We sent it back. Then after a wait the starter eventually arrived. It was OK. After prompting our waitress our main course was eventually... More

I've been to this place a number of times in the past, but I am sure it is under new management. It took over an hour for the food to arrive, drinks were taking so long we ended up going to the bar to get them. I decided to order a beef roast dinner, never again when it finally arrived... More
