I've been visiting The Cuckoo at Alwalton for years and it holds some fun times and friendly meet ups in a cosy and friendly atmosphere. However those days are no more. Don't know whats happened but i've suggested meeting here and eating on 3 occasions (all different) in the last 2 months and on each occasion have left complaining. The... More

We had a family Sunday lunch at the cuckoo, there were 10 of us so a fairly large party. The waitress, Alex, was so lovely and attentive. She really paid the extra attention, especially to the children, making us feel incredibly welcome. The food was lovely, massive Sunday roast portions, without being excessive and wonderful puddings. We will definitely be... More

Have been here multiple times as a couple and as a family and have had excellent service and food every time. There is a good selection on the menu and the pies are particularly good. Also very good wine list.

This is a nice, comfortable pub which offers hearty food at reasonable prices in lovely intimate surroundings. The Cuckoo caters for a good range of customers and is in an ideal location for those wanting to relax over a tasty meal without having to break the bank.

I had attended 6 months previous and enjoyed myself. Attended again on the 5th April and guests on my table found their choice of meat to be extremely tough and also the vegetables served with the Sunday roasts were to burnt to a crisp. The waitress was sympathetic and helpful and did her best to replace the poor dishes. Disappointed... More

Pretty good on the whole. The tear and share cheesey garlic bread was weird and kinda tasteless. We had sausage and mash.....fab sausage. Not the bread and rusk things you get in some places. Absolutely fantastic waitress _ Alex attentive without being a nuisance and really friendly. My personal gripe......why do these places insist on serving food on boards?! It... More

I have been a regular at The Cuckoo for about five years and more especially in the last three years as it has been used as a meeting place for friends from Cambridgeshire after I moved to lincolnshire. I always found it a good place... until now. I went on evening of the 1st April; the food was mediocre and... More

The Cuckoo is a pub I like. There are a lot of smaller rooms and the atmosphere is nice and the food is on the better side. The service to the tables could surely be better, but all in all The Cuckoo is a nice place to spend an evening. Note that other people also have found out the same.... More
