Ordered cod and chips and food was ok but peas were cold and chips and fish not particularly hot either. We were the first ones in the restaurant so no excuse for a disappointing meal.
We went to the cuckoo to celebrate the wedding of my brother and his now wife. This was the night before the wedding. We had booked the table two weeks prior to going and we had even provided the restaurant with our meal selections a week earlier. Despite this, the food was lackluster and the service extremely slow. We waited... More
Four of us were meeting up for lunch yesterday & staying at the Marriott & the Cuckoo was recommended. I booked a table for 1pm online. Everything about our lunch was perfect. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. I'm a vegetarian & there wasn't an online veggie menu so I wasn't sure what I would get. I... More
We ate at the Cuckoo for dinner having been there a couple of years ago with family. The pub itself is very cosy, especially in the winter time - nice log fires, very warm and welcoming. It's pretty well kept and I can imagine it would be lovely to sit outside with a gin and tonic in the summer. We... More

We went here on a Monday night looking forward to some reasonably priced comfort food. We started with cheesy garlic bread sharer which was strange to say the least. Rather than having normal cheese on it, the consistency was that of a sauce and the bread was more like a pastry. We shan't be having it again, let's just say... More
Went here for lunch with my mum daughter and sister, it is a very beautiful pub/restaurant however the food was very average and slightly over priced, our lunch was £85 and my daughter and sister had the kids menu. I had sirloin steak which was very tiny and tasted of nothing, the grilled tomato was undercooked the chips were ok... More
We were staying around the corner at the Peterborough Marriott but wanted somewhere with decent beer to have with our evening meal. It was Saturday night and things didn't look good for us without a reservation as the place was packed. However, the staff greeted us warmly and -- perhaps through lucky timing -- there was a table ready right... More
Staff are so loud not a relaxing atmosphere at all , food was cold and delays between meals were ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to my worst enemy as the cuckoo do not deserve the business. Terrible.
Normally there are always good flavours on the plate but last night it was a big let down. Scallops, prawn chorizo risotto if I had my eye shut the only thing I would recognize were the prawns! It lacked flavour and taste, along with a chunk of matter that stood out on the plate (which turned out to be tomatoe with...
