Very busy in the evenings

I had my birthday meal here a good few years ago which was lovely. Unfortunately when I last visited this pub/restaurant it was absolutely packed and it was quite early on in the evening. My husband and I looked at the menu and to be honest there just wasn't much choice so we decided to leave and... read more

Not much to say other than everyone in our group enjoyed our meals. Good arrived hot, well presented and was very tasty. I had the steak pie, not technically a pie here, it's a pastry topper, but never the less the filling was superb. Everyone was well looked after. Would go again.

Outstanding ambiance, service and food. Had a great lamb leg with vegetables. I also recommend the cauliflower with cheese as an appetizer. Highly recommended!

Having chosen here as a food stop after the Nene Valley Santa train I was more than pleasantly surprised by how quiet and relaxed the Cuckoo was. We were greeted very warmly by the staff and (I believe) the manager who were attentive but not overbearing. The food and drinks were timely, hot and exceptionally tasty and the atmosphere was... It was a busy Saturday evening, warm and relaxing ,good food and value for money, only 50% of the starters were available and nearly an hours wait for the main course, a lovely place to spend an evening if you have the time

Would go again though as I like to give benefit of... More

Went here for lunch recently. Have visited several times before so I know it's a good place to go. Food was great as usual. I've never had a bad meal here. Service was pleasant. Guy behind the bar cant enough to help. However it was clear they were understaff. Tables in the bar were taking a while to get cleared.... More

The main course was average and the vegetables looked older than than the building. When ordering I was offered vegetables as an option so I asked what was the alternative and the barmaid shrugged so went with it, not being told it was extra. Wish I hadn't bothered.

Waitress ate more than us off left overs!! Our food was good, service okay. Every time we looked at tables around us being cleared the waitress was eating left overs on way back to kitchen. Even more shocked when she produced a chip her apron to eat:-/
