We met friends for Sunday lunch and we were very happy with the staff, the meal and the surroundings - all very agreeable, we will go back again no problem.

So after venturing back to the Cuckoo after a year off due to poor food, poor service and being very poorly afterwards, there was a glimmer of hope that the owners had for once listened to all their regular customers about the problems. I ate there a couple of weeks ago and it was great. Last night however was a... More

My wife and I ate here recently. We ordered a sharing platter as a starter and a steak each for main course. First issue was that the steak was brought to the table before the starter. We sent it back. Then after a wait the starter eventually arrived. It was OK. After prompting our waitress our main course was eventually... More

I've been to this place a number of times in the past, but I am sure it is under new management. It took over an hour for the food to arrive, drinks were taking so long we ended up going to the bar to get them. I decided to order a beef roast dinner, never again when it finally arrived... More

There were four of us and we all had something different and all enjoyed our meals equally. The menu had plenty of different choices, some of my English favorites but prepared with a bit of a special twist, and I was spoiled for choice. In the end I went for the simple Gammon Steak and it was delicious. And at... More

We were shown quickly to a table by friendly servers. The new menu has been substantially cut down and now only has the normal pub classics; I was looking forward to their fish risotto but it's gone. I chose fish pie. It arrived fairly quickly but what a let down. A small bowl measuring only 4 inches across and 2... More
