Good food good location

We had a really lovely meal here. The staff were pleasant and it was worth driving out from Bristol for. I thought the prices were reasonable and reflected the quality of the food. We will definitely re-visit soon.

Our son took my wife and I for a drink on Easter Monday to this pub My wife bought 2 blackcurrant and sodas and a Lager chandy which came to £9. How can they justify the price of their drinks which are virtually double the cost of ther pubs?

Went for lunch on Easter Sunday. Was advised that they would be running a set menu, 2 courses for £19.50 and 3 courses for £24.50. However, when we got there they handed us menus that said 2 courses were £21 and 3 courses were £26. Not a massive difference, but quite annoying when we'd debated whether or not to go... More

Frequently visit the bear, being a local myself the place is undoubtedly the finest restaurant/pub with in the chew valley area. Food is absolutely stunning and there home cooked chips are always a delight whether garnished with a meal or just as a passing snack. If and when I do dine here I will always go for a steak, prices... More

well like other reviewers went in expecting a nice exp but alas did not eat as we were told there was a 50 mins wait on food, I can only presume they have a back room.function room as the restaurant/bar was almost empty!!!!! had a quick over priced drink and moved on, wish we had not, see next review

We returned to this venue expecting great food and a comfortable atmosphere. The food indeed lived up to expectations and was very well presented. For starters 2 of us had the potted salmon, 1 the pork terrine and 1 a mixed salad. 3 of us had the pheasant and 1the fish as mains. There was a bowl of mixed fresh... More

Have dined here twice in the last year and very happy all round both times. Really nice choice of food and lovely surroundings. The Bear and Swan and Pelican are definitely the best eateries in this area.
