Good service from staff. Food and atmospher good. however could not give five star as not as good value lunch as we had in Druids Arms on the weekend. Garden needs clearing of rubbish.

We are very lucky to be able to call the Bear & Swan our local. It is right next door to another pub but we find the B & S more of a pub (as opposed to a restaurant) and less formal than its neighbour. For us, with a toddler, it offers a friendly and welcoming environment with the option... More

Welcoming Somerset Inn easily drivable from Bristol and Bath. Ales are Fullers and Butcombe. Meals are based on traditional English pub meals but were of a high quality.

Went with friends for a birthday meal. Very busy on Thursday night which is steak night. Lovely large clean dining area with character and candles on the solid wood tables. Food very good if slightly expensive for size of portions. Staff efficient but we had drinks added to our bill which we hadn`t ordered or received. We paid for our... More

For a number of years we have used one of their sister pubs The Northay Arms at box. When we visited the Bear and Swan with a small group we were in the main restaurant which was busy with a good atmosphere but very noisy. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food served promptly. Good choice of starters... More

We went for lunch on Thursday 6/2/14. Good choice of beers. We both had Butcombe. The staff were very friendly. I had sun blush tomato, olive oil and balsamic vinegar appetiser and my husband had calamari with aioli. Both agreed that maybe we shouldn't have as we were both feeling full after eating these. I had the sausages with mash... More

Good place for meeting up with friends. Good selection on the menu and we all opted for the set express menu which was a good price at £12.00 per head with three good choices. Steak done just as I like it - medium rare. Everyone happy!

Visited 9.30 pm Thursday 23rd January 2013. I asked for a business card as I normally do when I do a Trip Adviser review. In return I was handed a gorgeous classy matt black Card but the details of this establishment were missing. Call me old-fashioned, but I was looking for something like name, address, phone number and e-mail address... More
