We dined here last night and both of us work in the hospitality industry ourselves. Our feedback is this place is fantastic. Service was efficient and the food was actually some of the best food we've had whilst eating out. Would highly recommend this pub to anyone! Great experience.....well done guys!

This is the second time I've eaten here in the last year. The first time I went the food was nice, but the service was ridiculously slow. The second time I went the service was fine - and it's worth saying that the waiting staff are very nice - but frankly the food was an overpriced insult. I have food... More

Driving to Bath we found this pub which was serving Sunday roasts. We sat in the pub area which was cosy and less formal. We chose the roast lamb which was served with roast potatoes AND large yorkshire puddings plus a variety of vegetables - more than enough food and all very tasty. We thought the meal was excellent value

We dined here last Saturday night . It is necessary to make reservations for weekends . The food was well served and of good quality . A visiting hen party of some 12 ladies was rather noisy but they were obviously having a good time. The bill included a bottle of wine , which we had not ordered , however... More

Anyone wanting just a food in the bar area or a celebration meal in the restaurant you will not be disappointed, the setting is lovely. Its not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and that's good food and good service in a lovely Country Village Location.

Astonishingly poor service, especially given the high prices - the waitress couldn't even be bothered to pour our wine (which turned out to be the wrong bottle anyway). The pub has an open plan layout, so when the locals began rather drunken, tuneless singing we couldn't hear ourselves speak - not what you expect when you are paying £20 for... More

We have been here several times but today's visit was disappointing. The roast beef was very, very tough and vegetables only just adequately warm. Staff were a bit slow also and it wasn't even full. I did mention that the beef was tough and was offered something else but didn't want to wait for another meal to be produced. I... More

We ate on a Saturday lunchtime as a party of eight. Great selection on the menu to everyone's taste. Staff were very friendly and food good. Pleasantly surprised by the value when the bill arrived!

I am in to my steaks and this pub serves some of the best. The farmer is named, he raises and butchers the Angus/Hereford cross locally. it is hung for 30 days. And cooked perfectly. Our group ordered Rib-eyes and T-bones cooked to different tastes from medium to "blue" and all were very satisfied. A nice option was a Roquefort... More
