Fantastic food and toddler friendly

We just had a fabulous lunch after turning up without booking on bank holiday Monday. The staff were helpful and accommodating as we have a toddler and they didn't mind him running about the place at all. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, we will definitely be going back

We were invited here for lunch and were looking forward to it as Josh Eggleton is a local "celebrity" chef and it has a Michelin star. It is hard to understand why though and we were completely underwhelmed. We were not offered a wine list, the service was slow and inattentive - my companion described it as amateurish; it is... Having just won a Michelin Star we expected something very special when we visited The Pony and Trap with friends for Sunday lunch. It was not easy to get a booking--12 or 3pm were offered-- I know why they do it but it is not a good start. On arrival the very good staff greeted us well but we were... More

The food was nice and the staff were lovely but it's nothing more than a middle of the road gastro pub. We've certainly had much better and not at a Michelin star standard so we might have been spoilt beforehand but the whole experience was a little disappointing and overpriced.

We booked a table at the pony and trap for my husbands birthday. We had the tasting menu with wine flight and each course was amazing!! The staff were friendly and very knowledgable on the produce they served. We were given five star attention and would highly recommend to anyone who likes Michelin star food!!

Another restaurant a little off the beaten track but, if you're feeling flush, well worth a visit. The food is imaginative in the extreme, not Hestor Blumenthal but getting close. Be prepared to taste the unusual. My starter was indeed creative with fresh salmon, samphire, belly of pork all doused with a consommé. Sorry, for me it didn't work! That... More

A bit out of the way, but worth the drive to get there, all three courses were spectacular, with added touches from the head chef delivering a course to the table, homemade cola bottles with our bill and the cozy, olde worlde atmosphere. The only downside was the toilet, which seemed fine until the end of the meal, when the... More

It was our silver wedding anniversary & had tried many times to book for evening meal but always booked so decided to try it for lunch & we definatly were not disappointed . The service was faultless without being obtrusive , the food was excellent despite my steak being a bit tough ( with steak this isn't anyone's fault &... More

We visited for the first time for our 1st wedding anniversary, so glad we did. An amazing experience. We had the tasting menu and can highly recommend it. All the staff are great and made sure we had everything we needed or wanted. All dishes were explained in detail and I can honestly say they all were delicious. The atmosphere... More

Visit here for dinner after booking several weeks in advance, the venue is in the country side, fairly isolated and has a sloped car park. The food was very good with lots of interesting flavours and the bill was £98 for two for 3 courses, however I can't work out what this venue is, on one hand it wants to be a... More
