Food was absolutely impeccable! Been there twice, once on a Sunday (lunch) and second time on a Friday (dinner). Great atmosphere and friendly staff, definitely worth a visit!

Great quality and imaginatively prepared food, as you would expect, in an unpretentious setting. The biggest surprise is that the prices offer real value, for the creative menu on offer. Having visited a few years back, before the Michelin star, the prices don't seem to have crept up too much, and are in line with many around the country who... More

Very limited Menu. Much 'sold out'. Poor staff attitude. Food 'good' but not 'outstanding'. Overrated.

We had a delicious Sunday lunch here yesterday. -- Starters: Two of us had the Chargrilled Leek Salad, which I thought was perfect, the sweet, soft leeks contrasting well with the crispy duck yolk. The other two had the Pork & Venison Gala Pie, which was declared to be very good indeed. -- Mains: Two roast beef, one roast pork,... More

I had so much expectations but P&T let me down. To begin with they were very inflexible to accommodate our booking. We were a party of 8 people and they requested deposit in advance and pre order of a set menu, which was not the same menu of the day. Part of the experience if going to a restaurant is... More

The choice and quality of food the food was superb. The attention to detail and the presentation of all three couses was second to none. The prices are not cheap but most definately outstanding value for money, i would thoroughly recommend this venue for a special occasion.

This is one of our favourite restaurants for special occasions. The cooking is innovative, the combination of flavours often unusual and the ingredients as local as possible including foraged food. On Monday nights they do a pie and a pint for £15 option. It will probably be one of the finest pies you have ever eaten. Mine was excellent. Starters... More

I have been meaning to book a table at The Pony and Trap for a long time and a birthday treat gave me the reason. We went with a 5 & 9 year old in a party of 6. The staff were top notch, attentive and really helpful. As it was a Sunday we opted for a roast dinner but... More

For the 2nd year running I visited the Pony and Trap for a birthday treat. It's a lovely little place that really does serve beautiful food. It has in my opinion earned it's good reviews. Not unreasonably expensive, it's good value for money.. And their chips are the best.
