I am a good cook and appreciate good food. Kudos to the Chef Hubert! We've been there three times and have been delighted each time the sautéed crab was definitely lump crab with a delicate sauce. Yum!!

The Black Duck was a great place to eat. The restaurant is very simply decorated, but you have the feel of a beach house. The food was great, try the pumpkin squash soup, wow ! It is a bit pricey, however, for a nice quiet night out it is well worth it. Only a short walk from Washington mall.

Let me just say this up front: With a couple of adjustments, this could be one of my favorite restaurants in Cape May. That said, we’ve been wanting to try Black Duck on Sunset for a while now, and we were in town a couple of weeks ago, and decided to check it out. It’s BYOB, which we love, because... More

The hostess was pleasant, the waitstaff was attentive, and we got there in time for the early bird dinner. In fact, we rushed in to place our order before heading across the street to buy a bottle of wine, just to make sure we got the early bird, which consists of three courses. Not sure if the portions are smaller... More

My husband and I had not been to the Black Duck for a few years. We had been put off by their seemingly snooty service. Since we were staying for New Years week without a car, we decided to go there, since it was in walking distance from where we were staying. Remembering their snootiness, I was timid to ask... More

We have been to the Black Duck on Sunset on scores of occasions over many years. Our last visit made us rethink whether we want to go back anytime soon. Our reservations were for 7:30 but when we got there the front desk hostess said the table was about to be cleared and to wait outside on the porch. It... More

We took advantage of the Pre Fix early bird special. The food was good but portions were small. Our scallop entrée consisted of three large scallops on a bed of excellent tasting risotto. It included a mixed green apple salad with Stilton blue cheese which was excellent. Dessert was a little lame; vanilla of chocolate mouse, as my wife said,... More

Stopped in here for dinner. The service was pretty good. Our server was very attentive without being overbearing. I had the butternut squash soup which was pretty tasty, and my guy had blue crab spring rolls to start. The only part of the spring rolls with any flavor was the sauce. I had the duck as my entree and the... More

We had reservations at 8:00. They over booked didn't get in till 9:45. That not acceptable. Food was good but over priced. Not sure what all this fuss is about this restaurant. It was good but not great.

Have been coming here for years and. as expected, had another great dinner. Spare, clean, bright interior. Service is friendly and solicitous. Serene atmosphere. Will return yet again!
