Our food has been above average to very good during many visits over the last several years, but always, the detracting feature for us is the NOISE...many hard surfaces in this relatively small space left our small party, literally begging each other to repeat what they had just said. Overly loud guests at adjacent tables made it worse. Without a... More

Ordered an appetizer salad with roasted beets for $8.95 without the cheese. It came without the pecans as well and although they listed roasted beets and tomatoes, I had to search for them. They forgot to bring the dressing and basically served me a plain salad of lettuce with a few pieces of tomato and beets for almost $9. My... More

This place is off the main roads and the outside does it no justice. The food was delicious. We have the baked Brie app-amazing, crab-cakes and carbonara for our main course and them my husband enjoyed the house special peach cobbler and I had the key lime pie. That pie was my favorite thing I ate my whole trip!! Definitely... More

It's been awhile since I've been to Backstreet, but after my last meal, my family and I will make sure that we return more often. After loading up on some wine to bring to dinner, we started out with the warm goat cheese salad, caramelized brussel sprouts, and cajun scallops appetizers. These were by far the star of the meal... From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed and relaxed. Our waitress,Susie, was very helpful and informative. The food was amazing. If there is fish on the menu, don't hesitate. We ordered our dessert when we ordered our entrees. It was a peach cobbler. Susie explained that the cobbler was made from scratch, as is everything here. One recommendation,... More

This restaurant is off the beaten path. The name seems a bit strange until you try this absolute gem of a restaurant. It is on a back street and the food is simply delicious. We have eaten here twice now - once last year and again this year. The Chilean sea bass was fantastic. Our 13 year old daughter had... More

You have to go to Backstreet ! Not only are the dinners fantastic, like the Chilean Sea Bass and the Grouper, but the breakfast is wonderful. I had the Crab & Asparagus Omelet. WOW ! It was simply delicious. What a wonderful experience in a casual and relaxing atmosphere.

Although there are a lot of great places to go for breakfast in Cape May Backstreet is more of a secrete. The food is very good, I had an omelette with beef tips, mushrooms, and onions and it was pretty darn good. You also get home fries and toast with your meal. They open at 9;00 Saturdays and Sundays only... More
