I got engaged to my wife here! Fabulous place, very romantic, low lighting, crackling open hearth fire, beautiful organic food, she was only ever going to say yes :) One of my favourite places to spend time in, not just for the food. Its in a quiet sleepy little hamlet in Co. Wicklow called Macreddin Village, lots to beautiful scenery... More

I ate in this restaurant last Friday. I was staying in Brook's lodge and at €65 a head for the meal I did hesitate as I am dairy sensitive. Imagine my delight when I was asked if I had any dietary requirements when I made the booking before I had mentioned anything. I was told that the chef would make... More

Very very good food, very tasty, well presented... Choice of dinner menu or tasting menu, we chose the dinner menu as the choice appealed to us more. For the cheese course you go into a cellar and help yourself to the choice of cheese and chutneys on display. Very friendly and helpful staff especially the manageress.

My wife and I enjoyed a nice meal here this weekend, the menu is all organic so depending on the time of year you go here then this will dictate the menu choice, we felt a bit Limited by choices but in the end the meal was great. Positives: food was excellent quality & very well presented. Staff very friendly... More

I and my girlfriend decided to use a voucher for the Brook Lodge to try out their restaurant the Strawberry Tree. Apparently, for Saturday dinner service (without a doubt the busiest night of the week for any restaurant), in the Strawberry Tree you only have one option for dinner and it is the 7 courses tasting menu which would be... I booked the Strawberry Tree for a special family occasion as my siblings are "foodies" and I had long wanted to eat there myself. I should say first off that the food was everything we had hoped for and more. I had forgotten flavours and food could be so good. I enjoyed every mouthful and was glad that I had... More

The Strawberry Tree is well-respected as an organic centre of culinary excellence. I recently had a chance to dine there and found the experience absolutely tremendous. The varied menu, the staff and wine list, the ambience and personal touches make this a place to go back to for a special occasion. The Strawberry Tree features a menu compris with 4... More

Having wanted to go here for a long time we went for a birthday meal, very excited. That didnt last. Small portions, big prices and average service. Stopped off in chip shop on way home, enough said

We had heard great things about the food here so were very disappointed when we eat here last week. There were 4 courses and I can honestly say that the only thing I really enjoyed was the bread basket served with pesto at the start of the evening. To start I had smoked salmon which was so over smoked I... More

I visit here 2 or 3 times a year, usually as part of a stay at Brook Lodge with my wife. Not only is the food absolutely fantastic, the ethos behind it is something I can buy into. It is Ireland's only Certified Organic restaurant which means that the food is either organically produced or is wild. Indeed, it's at... More
