Visited alone, sat and ate my lunch in comfort and privacy but never felt akward as staff great. I like to read the papers, have a coffee and people watch. Lovely spot, going back later this week.

6 of us thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful meal from a great menu, service was first class and staff very friendly and helpful. As a result we've booked again for a family Christening in December for 80 people. We have been for Sunday lunch twice since then and really enjoyed them.

We were a family group of 9 (3 generations) who just popped in for a drink but were tempted by the varied menu. Everyone was impressed by the atmosphere in the pub. Delighted that they had the wonderful Staropramen from Prague on draught. I would personally highly recommend the Chicken Satay Salad which was delicious and only cost about €8.50

After reading several reviews here we had high expectations about going last Saturday. We sat at a table that was just vacated and a waitress came over and cleaned it and said she'd be back in two minutes to take our order...she never came back We were greeted by a different waitress who it felt like we were annoying, she... Seafood chowder was fantastic -- very generous portions of seafood in a creamy broth. Fish & chips was among the best we had in 2 weeks in Ireland/UK. And be sure to order the parmesan chips -- excellent! Staff was very friendly and the tavern itself was very inviting.
