It was our fIrst time to eat at the Hollow Bar on Thursday last and the food was great. We ate huge portions of cod and trout and both were cooked to perfection. As my husband is coeliac it can be a little difficult when we go out but he was catered for really well and was thrilled to be... More

We called in on the Hollow Bar one lunchtime whilst on holiday in Wexford at the end of August. I'd read enough really positive reviews to want to try the place and it was only ten minutes from where we were staying near Wellingtonbridge. I have to say I am surprised that this place isn't more highly rated at the... More

We knew nothing about this restaurant apart from it being recommended by our B&B owner who made the booking for us. When we arrived our table was in the middle of the room, which was unsatisfactory as my partner is a tall man who requires space. There was no problem, we sat at the bar to have a pre-dinner drink... We are fortunate to have a holiday home within walking distance of The Hollow and have got to know it well over the years. We have never been disappointed - and we are people who have been used to eating in some of the best places in the UK. The proprietress, Mary Murphy, is an amazing lady - hardworking and... More

The Hollow came highly recommended and we were quite hungry so we arrive at about 7:30 without a reservation. We were seated in the primitive bar as the restaurant was full which was ok and the staff were friendly and took our order quickly. However, the wait for the food was unacceptable. As 8:30, we were told it was just... More

I have eaten here quite a few times , surprised it is not higher in reviews, if you like fish do not pass up this place. Be warned the portions are enormous so maybe share a plate, forget the a la carte and just order off the blackboard, if the fish is fresh its on the board, pan fried simple... More

It is not often that I write reviews but the whole experience of the Hollow prompted me to write one having visited on numerous occasions within the past 6 months......Though it may not look much from the outside the atmosphere, comfort and open fire make it a most relaxing place to enjoy a meal. As a lover of fish, the... More
