Welcoming staff, beautiful tasty food and delicious tea. This is a little gem in Castlebar and transports you to another time. You could easily sit for ages, catching up over tea and lunch. I cannot fault this place and every time I go I wonder why I don't go more often. Amazing value for money and always a satisfied tummy!

We were pleasantly surprised to stumble on an authentic Middle Eastern cafe in Castlebar. While the opening hours are not especially geared for tourists we managed to dine early evening before a 7 pm close. The owner was welcoming & friendly & seemed to know a lot of the local customers very well. While disappointed that the avocado & crab... More

This place is a little hidden gem! Full marks! I would highly recommend, in particular, the fish cakes! Coffee's great too and the staff are wonderful :-)

Really enjoyed a special celebration lunch out here with my wife on our wedding anniversary. We shared stuffed vine leaves, falafel and sweet potato chips for starters, and enjoyed Lamb kiddo meatballs with rice and crabmeat salad for mains. All finished off with a little lemon meringue and blackcurrant roulade :) Service was prompt, efficient and friendly without being intrusive.... More

I have been to the Olive Tree plenty of times and it is always top class food and service. I have tried almost everything on the menu, paninis, salads, crab cakes, currys, fresh fish, falafel, pittas etc and have never been disappointed. All the food is fresh and flavourful and the prices are reasonable. The staff are always pleasant and... More

Stumbled upon this place quite accidentally and I'm really glad we did. There is a nice selection of food on offer. I'm a big fan of their sweet potato fries. The guy who runs it is really pleasant and will have a chat with everyone that comes through the doors. I've been in a few times and everything I've tried... More

Got to the restaurant based on the reviews... Maybe it is not the prettiest place in Castlebar (decor quite dated and menus a little worn) but OH MY!!! the food was so good! We had dinner portions of the Greek style lamb steak with roasted peppers, courgettes and aubergine and Moroccan meatballs with cous cous... Both portions were massive and... More
