Famous for Steak but try the Scampi its Epic

This is a very traditional restaurant and it is very popular which is obvious from the amount of customers. The food is good traditional pub restaurant food and very generous portions. Living nearby in Drogheda, probably have been to The Monasterboice Inn a hundred times as its a bit of a local institution but never thought to write a review until visiting again last week. In truth, it is a little dated and hasn't changed much but, then again, why change for the sake of change. Its always consistently good with... More

I am still showing friends pictures of my fillet steak, 6 months on. Surely the thickest and possibly the biggest I have ever eaten, but it was extremely tender and cooked to perfection, could not believe I had polished it all off without feeling that I had just ate a whole cow! Don't go here for fancy, don't go for... More

After being turned away from a previous venue we went to the monasterboice inn. We had no reservations but staff were helpful and couldn't do enough. Food was lovely and service was rapid. Nice changing area for babies x

I have lived in Drogheda for a number of years and found that The Monasterboice Inn would never let you down. Friendly professional service with a menu of Irish food. If there is no table free you can wait in the lounge and not stuck at an uncomfortable bar with people passing you all the time. Prices suit the food... More

Went as a family. Didn't think anywhere in town would have space on a Sunday afternoon. Popped in and yes a table is free, food very fast which lead to believe not proper fresh. Still steal and kids too. Coffee afterwards lovely. Pints at weeknights very relaxed and much better feeling.

Have lived on the continent for many years but when I`m back home on holidays my mam and dad always insist on dragging me and my family down to good old Donnegans for a meal. I really don`t want to let them down but I have been so disappointed with this restaurant so many times that I thought it fair... More

Very large, varied menu available day & night. Always especially good for steaks. Service from all staff is always excellent. Have sampled late breakfast/brunch, lunch and evening meals and always very satisfied with everything. Suits all family members. May need to book for lunch at weekends....so popular. But, if you're prepared to wait (if you haven't booked), you will be... More
