Good food at great prices

We enjoyed a great meal in the restuarant which was very good, our steaks were delicious and beautifully cooked. Our desserts were both delicious. There is also a geat carvery which is well supported by guests and locals alike.

Went here for a business meeting, its really in need of refurbishment, its over priced also and seems like the staff are on fear of making a decision incase the manager is watching them. I pass this every day and I'm not surprised I haven't been lured in before, don't think ill bother going back.

This is the second time we've eaten here, and I meant to review earlier. It would appear this place hasn't been reviewed in a while but going by previous comments, things must have changed including the chef, or maybe s/he just took comments on board. First off the value is fantastic - 3 courses for €19.95 - that's the best... More

The staff and service are excellent. But then the food came. Everything was thrown on the plate and smothered in vegetables - you couldn't find the main entree! After asking them to serve vegetables on side, the chef chose to ignore that request. Desserts were not very good and after ordering an apple/blackberry crumble, I found 1 blackberry in it.... More

Ate the dinner special here. It was good value at €20 for 3 courses but the quality of the food wasn't great. They would win no prizes for food presenation and the restaurant was quite dirty. I had to ask them to clean the floor under our table where I had spotted several slices of bread and salami just thrown... More

Hughes on the Green is run by Hugh and Daphne and is located adjacent to the Greenhills Hotel. They do Sunday lunches and dinner. We have eaten Sunday lunch here on many, many occasions and have never had a bad word to stay about it. In fact a few months ago, we ate here with my brother and sister in... More
