The barman was really cold and unfriendly. We accepted drinks we didn't order and at the end we even didn't get all of our change back. But the worst might be the picture with Adolf Hitler on their wall.

Great pub, don't walk past! Lovely pint, good quality pub better than the usual pub junk. Themed bar with a great atmosphere.

On arrival, we found it was busy downstairs and we're promptly greeted by a friendly American waitress who brought us upstairs and showed us to a table. The food arrived and did not disappoint. The starter buffalo chicken wings were really nice and my main of 10oz steak was expertly cooked. The chips were exactly as I like them; very... More

Stopped in here for some food on a recent outing after asking around people had very nice things to say about it, we weren't disappointed we got soup for starters which was very good then we had burgers and steaks, the burgers were out of this world, the steak I had couldn't have been cooked better with lovely chunky chips... We were in Kilkenny during our 2 wk trip around Ireland. We had just visited Kilkenny Castle and taken the trolley tour around town. We asked the trolley driver where he would go eat for a nice relaxing meal. He aimed us toward The Field Bar and Restaurant directly across from the castle. We were in luck, there was going... More

The place is very small when you look in, but there is an upstairs. The food is second to none, from soup, sandwiches to steaks, very tasty. Menu and prices outside the door.Food served til 9.00pm Live music was excellent, Adrian, Paddy and Donal, they included everyone in the place, without being intrusive or over the top, such a fabulous... This place is great! Fun pub with live music. We star the Rusty Strings here (male / female singer). They played traditional music and covered a wide range of other genres including some Americana. The pub had tons of character and although touristy (the whole town is so hard to avoid), there were locals and we met some folks from... More

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, the Guinness, the music, and the food! We got the BLT and burger. Both so good! Definitely worth a stop!

We went by chance to this pub for a meal after meeting James, one of their staff in a pub over the road. He suggested we tried where he worked which we did. The owners Sally and John were wonderful, the band that night was terrific, food great, drinks cheap and had the best night of all in Ireland. Would... More
