We ate Easter dinner at cafe sol and could not have been more impressed. The service was speedy without bothering or rushing us. For an appetizer we had scallops with seared pork belly....delicious!!! The three of us got the same entree for dinner because it sounded so good, salmon with horseradish potatoes, and string beans. This was one of the... More

Lunch very nice, staff pleasant. Arrived just before 3pm and lunch service still available. Food is good here. Place looks like it has been done up recently. I would return.

Lots of my friend rave about this place. While the service is very good the atmosphere is nice, I personally don't see what all the fuss is about. In saying that, people travel far for the experience. Each to there own.

Great food with really strong selection of vegetarian choices which is good to see :) Had the scallop and pork belly starter which was divine and then the pasta and chorizzo chicken main which again was heavenly ! All finished off with one of the best chocolate deserts I have ever had (with lemon crisps and scoop of vanilla ice... More

Went there last weekend and was very pleased with the whole experience. We had booked a table for two and was escorted to a table in the corner immediately. We both had starters and main course and wine. The food was excellent and presentation was beautiful. I felt the starter was a bit expensive at €11 but very tasty the... More

Went here on Saturday for a girly lunch. Loved this place, it was busy when we arrived, but managed to get a lovely window seat. Service was very good. Great variety of food, with good portion sizes, quinoa salad was gorgeous. Lovely to see a nice variety of vegetarian options. I would definitely recommend this when visiting Kilkenny!

We had a wonderful meal in Cafe Sol last night. This wasn't our first visit. The last time we were here I was pregnant so it was nice to sample the wine last night. Wasn't disappointed. We had a bottle of Argentinian Malbec which was EUR25 (& very nice). I had the Goats Cheese starter and the Cod (special) main.... More

Whereas I wouldn’t count myself as a regular I’ve been dining in Cafe Sol for as long as I can remember and I’ve always really enjoyed the food, liked the atmosphere and taught the staff were very efficient and friendly. Not so much anymore!!!! The food I really think isn’t great anymore; The last time I was in was for... More
