Very tasty

We both had a lovely meal. Very tasty and good ambiance. The medieval cider I tried here was amazing.

Pluses: two veg starters and two veg entrees on the menu, plus the soup of the day was veg too. Wine list longer than expected. Menu identifies dishes as gluten free and celiac friendly. I enjoyed my lamb shoulder main course very much and desserts were good too. Price was very fair -4 people x 3courses + wine for 170... More

Suggested by the B&B where we stayed, it was a 15 minute drive but well worth it. The staff were very friendly and helpful - offering samples of wines. My fish pie and my wife's monkfish were fresh and delicious. The appetizers and desserts are worth the trip also. At the end of the meal the chef came out and... More

Went for lunch with family members, one a little man of 6. I had a warm tomato and mozzarella ciabatta with a side salad. My brother had a nut roast with side salad. Mine was very nice and tasty. The nut roast was fair. The young man had a chicken pasta. While I liked that a children's menu was available... More

We had an excellent meal in this small yet perfectly formed restaurant, tucked off the main street. Best kept secret in Kilkenny? The menu is very varied, with great vegetarian dishes, difficult to find in many restaurants. The fish was delicious, wines recommended, hit the spot. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Great ambiance in a nice bistro style room.... More

Good food and friendly staff. It had received a Georgina Campbell award for 2012, 2013 & 2014. Also received a Bridgestone award fo As the resteraunt is a bit small we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. But it was worth the wait.

This restaurant was recommended to us and we enjoyed it very much. It was very walkable from our hotel and the atmosphere suited couples and families. We had salmon and chicken and they were prepared in unusual ways and were delicious. The desserts were extremely good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Affordably priced lunch menu with excellent food, great beer, wine, coffee, and tea. The Smoked Trout salad is delicious!

Based on the recommendation we went for a romantic dinner for two. My wife had a vegetarian dish which she enjoyed greatly and I had the best cooked fish in my life. We've eaten in many good restaurants, but this is definitely worth it. Dinner for two cost us about 100 euros.

My wife and I visited Cafe Sol after a day of sightseeing in Kilkenny. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent meal. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
