I have visited here on a number of occasions over the past few years and I really believe the quality of the food and service has gone downhill. My most recent booking was a Sunday evening and there was very little atmosphere in the place. On the positive side the calamari and pate were delicious. However...the bread was hard and... More

This restuarant was a great suggestion from a close friend and it did not disappoint! The cheery atmosphere and great musical selection was matched superbly by the exquisite food and tasteful wines. I was seated and served by two lovely and helpful young men who's witty banter between themselves and us topped the night off and we will be returning... More

Recently went to the grapevine with a couple of friends, at first the service was great and the food came quickly and was nice. However, after dessert while we were still drinking our wine one of the waitresses approached our table and asked us to move as they wanted to fit in more people (who did not have a reservation)... Visited on a Tuesday night for an early bite catching up with friends. The food was lovely and great for sharing. The recommended guide for ordering was 5 tapas for two people - we went a bit overboard ordering 14 for five people as we were hungry. Most of the dishes are very substantial and we struggled through the dishes.... More

The food was lovely I cant fault that. The only thing that it fell down on was the venue. The restaurant was too small and we were seated at first under the stairs but the waitress had no problem with changing our seats. The plates we were given to eat off unfortunately were saucers and I know tapas are served... More

Having been in grapevine a few times and always been happy leaving I was disappointed by our experience Saturday night. I cannot fault any of the portions, the food, nor the atmosphere which is always good but the service was really poor. I understand that some places can be really busy on Saturday nights and having worked in restaurants I... More

Visited here on Saturday afternoon for a quick bite. Very welcoming, staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and menu identified Gluten Free items (always a bonus). Extensive wine menu with lots of choice. Good value for money, highly recommended and I will certainly be returning.

I recently dined with friends in The Grapevine on a busy Saturday night in Kilkenny. We had reservations and we seated immediately. We chosse 10 plates having used the "5 per 2 people" guide on the menu. There was ever so slighty too much on arrival, as the Steak Bruschetta was a larger portion than the other plates. The chicken... More
