A lovely old place with bags of character, open fires and very welcoming and friendly staff, excellent range of beers and the food is ideal for a quick lunch. Busy every time we went in (every walk around town seemed to lead us back here ! )

Peeked in the door and loved the atmosphere. Three fireplaces burning on a chilly day, Irish musicians playing and a lovely building.....oh,yes, we stayed! Enjoyed very tasty Irish stew and some sandwiches and Guiness. Tapped our feet in time with the musicians, met some new friends and had a great evening. Beautiful building with stained glass windows and beautiful woodwork... More

Arrived after dinner to find fun and social atmosphere, without the stag and hen parties that seem to be the thing elsewhere in town. Didn't feel like a touristy place (although some were apparently there). And not the least, really good Irish music.

Was really looking forward to having a few pints in one of the oldest pubs in Ireland, and was not disappointed. Great atmosphere in an beautiful building. Perfect location in Town too.

This place is so interesting and rich in history that it cannot be overstated. It is so full of history and interesting things that it could be a museum of Irish life. The publicans are welcoming and very efficient. They have live music every night and genuine Irish dancers at no extra charge to watch. We loved it. Their food... More

Well as always when visiting Kilkenny we stopped in at the Kyteler's Inn for a pint while we decided what to do for the evening. Several pints and a scrumptious dinner later we made our way home as Kilkenny was closing down for the night. What a great evening with awesome entertainment. Thanks Kyteler's for giving us a great night... More

I Love kyteler's,great atmostphere, lovely pub.. however had lunch yesterday, my husband had the days special which was fine. I Opted for basic sausages n chips which were far from "fine". One thing paying 12 Euro for sausages n chips if the chips were at least home made but they were hard and possibly reheated or re-fried. Disappointing.

The tour guide at Smithwicks told us to try out this pub and we are glade we did. The bangers mash was good and huge. They had an Irish band playing wonderful songs. It's the oldest pub in Kilkenny and it has a great story about Alice de Kyteler. It's a good place to eat when on a budget.
