Food was tasty, hearty and fast! The Irish stew will keep you fed for a long time. I suggest a small bowl vs large one. Service was good, not great, but real reason is to go is the atmosphere. Building is from the 1300's and the courtyard is open and filled with music. Lots of locals as well as tourists... More

Went in with the family for a (sort of, about 8:30) late bite to eat. I was worried that bringing the kids in might be a problem but not at all. The host at the door brought us in and sorted out a table for us where the kids were out of the way but we could hear the music.... More

We discovered and lunched at a quintessential medieval pub and restaurant on Kieran Street. We read about the strange past of its original owner, and enjoyed the ancient décor and ambiance. The food and drinks were great, as well as the service.

We came for dinner and the had Irish dancers and live musicians. I would agree the food was good pub food. The extra dancers and live musicians made it an experience.

Went here on the recommendation of the owner of the B&B we stayed at. It had average food but the music and story telling were pretty good. It was clearly a performance not a traditional adhoc gathering of musicians in a pub. My only complaint was with the other patrons at the bar. Their talking and noise was drowning out... More

Live Music from 18,30 with a traditional irish performance, perfect Guinnes and nice food. If you mix all of these with the atmosphere you can breath inside this pub, you'll realize you are in one of the best place in Ireland.

The food was to die for. Always piping hot and very tasty. They also had local entertainment that was very informative. They played music and told stories of the area. Very good!!!

The food was fine, but what we really went for was a Shandy and the music - and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was great (a terrific story about the inn's origins written on the menu), the service was wonderful. It was an very enjoyable evening. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Kilkenny!

We went to this restaurant/pub for a late dinner on a Sunday night. The food was great. I had the vol a vent which the waitress recommended and it tasted great. My husband had the Irish stew and thought the flavor was better than other stews he tasted on our trip. The atmosphere was exactly what we thought an Irish... More
