Lovely feel of space

I liked the feeling of space and freedom in the dining/coffee shop. Also the store on the ground floor carries a very good range of clothes and jewellery but are reasonably expensive

This is essentially a cafe charging restaurant prices. There was only one person on the till and she also had to make the coffee, so the queue moved extremely slowly. I paid €14.50 for a main dish of roast lamb and vegetables. The lamb wasn't bad, but was lukewarm; the potatoes were hard and lukewarm; and the vegetables completely tasteless and... More

We were staying at Butlers House for 3 nights and enjoyed our breakfasts here each morning. Good choice of food, all locally sourced, including cereals, juices, tea, coffee, full Irish breakfasts and some fresh fruit. They serve the most fantastic irish soda bread and fresh fruit scones ... they were freshly baked each day and still hot when served! We... More

One of the nicest shopping craft centers in Ireland, this lovely spot has jewelry, woollens, linens, crystal, and high prices. The cafe is a nice respite. It's across the street from the Castle and very convenient for tourists.

Recently ate in the new table service Evening Restaurant at Kilkenny Design Centre and was met by a beautiful relaxed setting overlooking the Castle and Castle Yard, with it's wealth of heritage. The menu had us captured form the moment we read it, from the explanation of the heritage significance of the building, to the sese of place we got... More

We had lunch here whilst on holiday. It was to die for. Lots of choice of amazing breads and the food is a higher quality than your standard cafe fare. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Was looking around Kilkenny for a more "upscale" type of food, at the end of our journey through Ireland and bit feed up with Pub food. We stumbled on this restaurant by luck, we already selected another one in town and going back to the B&B at the end of the day we gave a curious look at the dinner... More

Entertained two business colleagues from Boston here recently and yesterday met my family from LA for lunch. Very impressed on first visit for lunch - great food - great service and waiter/manager was very attentive in anticipating our needs. Late lunch yesterday made us feel sort of holding them up for their dinner prep. Would rather they tell us leave... More

I was expecting new and exciting art and design items. I found a few, but it was mostly things designed to be purchased by tourists.
