Of course one should always judge a restaurant by the quality of its food. However the courtesy of the staff also plays a huge part in the assessment of a restaurant. During the Celtic Tiger period of economic boom many restaurants in Ireland especially Dublin took on an air of superiority and almost made customers feel like they were doing... More

As an Italian, I am usually skeptical about Italian Restaurants abroad and, when, traveling, I prefer trying local cuisines. For our short stop-over in Kilkenny Rinuccini was not our first choice, but the restaurant we wanted to try was closed for lunch, it was rather cold and so we reluctantly decided to go inside. The first impression is pleasant: the... More

we came here after reading the reviews and was good but not great. The service is hit and miss. some of the waiters are fantastic! the others are so so. We didnt really seem to have one waiter looking after us, it was who ever we could flag down. I ordered the Spaghetti with chilli prawns and it was great!... More

We had a very pleasant dinner over the Christmas holiday period at Ristorante Rinuccini in Kilkenny. I have been here on a number of occasions in the past, though not for at least a year, and was very pleased that 'Rinuccini's' has not alone maintained its standards but, in my opinion, has improved. Ambiance was pleasant with a nice buzz... More

Kilkenny has lots of good eating options but this is one of the best, right up there near the top of the overall list. Great food and very professional service in a nice cosy little setting. Obviously it's expensive enough but you're paying for the quality. The early bird is decent enough value and has a good range of options... More

I ate solo here on a Monday evening at 5.15pm. Most tables were already taken up and there was a warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff were attentive and polite and didn't make me feel weird eating alone. I had a main course only - rigatoni with tomato and chilli sauce. It was fresh and delicious. The place seemed really... More

In retrospect Ristorante Rinuccini was the perfect meeting place for well travelled friends but having not been there before I was a little apprehensive; would it live up to it's reputation, could it be too stuffy and traditional, would I have the choice to eat gluten and diary free? Our fears were allayed right from the outset; we made a... More

One gets the initial impression the Rinuccini is a small establishment. However, aside from the lower area where one enters the restaurant, there is a further area up a flight of stairs and through a passageway. It is in this passageway we were seated. There are tables for perhaps 5 couples here and, while these are fine, if given the... More

We had a lovely meal last night. Everything just so. Great service which for us means attentitive but not overly so and the balance was great, lovely food all beautifully presented with the hot food piping hot, lovely wine and a nice buzzy atmosphere. Highly recommend.
