we ate here on our visits to Killarney in July and again in august '14.. the food was very good, that tomatoy slow roast lamb shank is heaven on a plate, the fillet steak was tender and juicy, can't fault the food at all, very nice, service was quick on our first visit - a group of 10 in july... Great food and great service. Enjoyed the lamb shank which did fall of the bone as the precious reviewer said. Dad had the Irish stew and it was good as well. Mussels were good not great for an appetizer.

This restaurant was a find in Killarney. It is off the main street so without a recommendation would not have discovered it. They have a lot of vegetarian meals. The salad I ordered was the best I found in Ireland. My vegetarian main dish was also wonderful. Do not miss this jewel if you visit Killarney!

Booked in recently on the recommendation of a friend, they weren't wrong! This place is lovely, cozy, staff are lovely and the menu varied. The stir fry was so tasty. Highly recommend.

My wife and I wandered around Killarney looking for a dinner spot and found Stonechat up a little alley. Grest decor, good service and the food was awesome. I had the duck spring rolls which were delicious, and the lamb shank. The meat fell off of the bone and it was done to perfection. My wife had the chicken with... More

Husband and I were walking through Killarney and chanced upon this little alleyway where the smell of grilled steaks got our stomachs growling. A few steps down the lane, we found this place, patrons sitting outside, and a full house inside. No room at the inn so to speak so we headed on our way, not before noting the special... More

As a Killarney local could not recommend this restaurant to any visitor to the town given the availability of superior restaurants at the same price point within 100m of stonechat. It seems popular with locals but these in the quantity of dish over quality bracket. Starters Mussels: Purported to come in a white wine and cream sauce. Came cooked in... More

While walking through town looking for a place to have dinner, we walked through an alleyway between buildings and found this restaurant. What a pleasant surprise! The waitstaff were friendly and the food was good. I had an excellent prawn stirfry. Worth the effort to find the place!

Went here on a Sat evening and the place wasn't busy, a party of 6 adults and 2 kids plus a few drinks and the bill was close on 256.00 euro - bit much on average 42 per head . The staff were unfriendly, a different person approached the table each time - one guy tried to convince us that... More
