This is a really pleasant pub, but we made the mistake of thinking we could order food here. I had a Shepherd's Pie. It was okay. Serviceable. But my sweetie, who grew up in Ireland and has experienced some bad food, rated this Irish stew as the worst ever. -- And it wasn't so cheap. either...

Great meal! Atmosphere was great, met some nice people sitting next to me as well as had a wonderful meal. I came in Murphy's Bar for a late lunch and had the Beef & Guinness Stew. It was so good. The meat was nice and tender, the vegetables were tender too, but not mushy. Overall the dish was wonderful. The... More

Great place, good service atmosphere. Junior steak was overcooked but still good. The toffee pudding was excellent

The food was wonderful. The cheese plate simply deceptive, a must order to enjoy while soaking in the fellowship of the establishment. The staff was wonderfully courteous and even offered fun suggestions for other businesses in the area. The prices were great and we had so much fun we went back for a second night during our stay in Kilarney.

We had a late dinner there one evening, and found the pub to be cozy, but not cramped. The meal quality was better then I would have expected for the cost (reasonable prices), so much so, we went back from breakfast the next morning.

We went to lunch at Murphy's twice during our stay in Killarney. Both meals were good. The Guinness Stew, the fish and chips and the sandwiches were very good. We also had some good pints as they had typical Guinness, Kilkenny and Smithwicks. I even made the mistake of ordering a Bulmers cider...won't be doing that again. The service was... More

Good afternoon Thank you for your positive comments about the food and service in Murphys. However we are completely baffled by your criticism of the water charge. We do not and never have charged for tap water, we are happy to serve it chilled to our customers. If however bottled water is requested it is opened and served at the... More

We had dinner and then stayed for the music. We saw a bachelor party, met some folks from England and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Food was great as was the music and the staff. I had to drag my husband out of here!

Going on a recommendation, four of us walked from our hotel (Plaza) to College Street looking for the restaurant above Murphy’s Bar. But after talking to some people coming from the bar, we decided to try the more reasonably priced menu downstairs in the bar. I had the fresh fish & chips – absolutely delicious. 2 of the lads had... More
