Good food but crowded

Apparently Murphy's has a big name everywhere. Lot's of people want to have dinner. Waiting time was told to be 20 minutes but after only 5 minutes we got a nice table. Fast service as lot's of people were waiting. The food was very good although the chips didn't look to be housemade. Meat was... read more

Went to murphy's for dinner prior to staying on to listen to the traditional Irish music. Thought the food was exceedingly average but the beer and music was great.

Murphy's is your typical pub. The service was okay but not fantastic and the food was little over priced for what it was. It was a great place to sit for a few and have a pint or 2 but not the place to make evening of it. We were there for dinner and did not feel like hanging out.... More

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch on our first day in Ireland. We had the best leek and potato soup. At first my husband was the only one who had ordered the soup. He gave me a taste and I immediately ordered a bowl for myself. I must admit that it was better than my leek... More

I rarely find myself at odds with the trip advisor community but on this occasion I do. I found this place pretty average. The beer was nice but the place did not have a great deal of atmosphere and the food was distinctly ordinary.i realise that music is a matter of taste but the live offering on the night we... More

This pub was right next to our hotel (Scotts Inn), so we decided to end the night here. The pub was a nice traditional pub with a mixture of age groups, full of more tourist and than locals. We sat our self in the back due to the the place being crowded because of the live music they had in... More

Lots of locals. Met young men from Cork Galic Football team. They were so sweet and friendly. Great live music. Food good, beer is better.

Murphy's Bar was close to where we were staying - one good reason for going there. But we were very happy with our food as well - fish and chips and a marinated chicken breast done burger-style. The food was tasty, service pleasant and efficient and the atmosphere congenial. Prices were higher than other parts of Ireland, but commensurate with... More

We noticed Murphy's as we arrived in Killarney, and asked the desk clerk about it when we checked in. She responded, "I've never had a bad meal there." We went for dinner, and everything was A-OK. Our waitperson was Sheila, and she was friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, and we had friendly conversations with the staff and several... More

While In Killarney, we visited Murphy's Bar at least 4 times. It is a very nice pub with friendly bartenders and great music. We were there one night and enjoyed the music so much we came back the next night and the musicians remembered us which I was surprised to be welcomed back. Definitely a fun place to visit. The...
