Very popular place

We spent the past weekend in Killarney, a place we regularly visit. We were taking a trip to Killorglin, when we decided to take a detour at Fossa and headed to Kate Kearney's Cottage. It's been years since we visited this well-known landmark in Kerry. It was a very cold and wet day and managed to... read more

Stopped at Kate's yesterday - the valley was basking in glorious sunshine and there were big crowds there. The staff were busy but as courteous and helpful as always! The menu provides very staple fare - no fancy haute cuisine at Kate's but everything on the menu is freshly cooked - I can highly recommend their Brie salad as a... More

Visited kate's for lunch on a Sunday and I would highly recommend it. First off, food was excellent. Location is spectacular. Granted,it was extremely busy (always a good sign!) and staff were at full tilt, but the service was so personable and genuinely friendly we stayed on at the bar for the rest of the evening and had probably the... the foods really good but its cold in the bar and it seems under staffed as we were sat ourselves at a table and no menus were given, we took no notice until an older couple came in after us (5mins) and were seated and handed 2 menus, we proceeded to go get menus ourselves, it was freezing in there... I don't normally give out about places but this is an exception, went in here for first time today and was badly in need of something hot after a long cold walk and was not a bit impressed, stood at bar to be served and get a menu for at least ten min and no one came near us, there... More

A welcome spot after coming from Gap of Dunloe and Black Valley. Perfect for a quick lunch or a cold pint. Perfect for families and children. Delicious hot vegetable/squash soup - much welcomed on a cold day. Service could have been better. Also includes a little gift shop.

We stopped in one evening because we were craving something sweet and our B&B was just right up the road. I honestly cant even remember what it was that I got but it was DELICIOUS. It was also the first time we tried red lemonade (if you diddnt know, its an Irish thing but super delicious). I wish we had... More
