Being originally from Killarney we always make a point of visiting Kate's when we're back. Our recent visit did not disappoint. There were four in our party and we all enjoyed our meals. I opted for the lamb shank which did not disappoint. The meat just fell away from the bone. The night we went there was an traditional Irish... More

We always make a point of visiting Kate Kearney's while in Killarney. The food and beer are good, and reasonable value, and if you're lucky enough to catch an Irish evening it's good fun without being too kitsch.

Kate Kearney's Cottage is located at the mouth of the Gap of Dunloe, itself a not to be missed adventure in the Killarney region. We were there twice since Kate's is within an easy walk from the B&B where we were staying. The food at dinner was ok, traditional Irish fare...nothing gourmet here. But, it was atmospheric and fun. There... More

This was our lunch stop after driving the Gap of Dunloe section of the Ring of Kerry. Plenty of sandwich choices at the tables outside since it was a wonderful sunny day. Not sure if the menu inside is different but we enjoyed our toasted sandwiches, spectacular views and friendly conversation with our server. Plenty of space in the inside... More

We were excited to stop in at Kate's after a long, cold, and wet day. The restaurant itself is charming inside, but it was almost as cold inside as it was out. We'd been hoping for somewhere warm to sit for a late lunch. Our server seemed to be inconvenienced by us being there, the food seemed a bit pricey,... More

Four of us stopped for lunch whilst driving the Ring of Kerry. Definitely a mistake. In general the food was average (except for the 'award winning sausages' - I can't even begin to imagine what award they could possibly have won ! Dreadful). Dirty tables, very slow service and indifferent staff. Must have been an off-day given the other recent... More

I was doing a trip up the gap with a couple of friends visiting from Canada so we called in for a bite to eat. Staff are friendly, the service was quick and the food went down like a treat.

We ate twice at Kate's during our stay at the Gap of Dunloe. Both times the food was very good and there was live traditional Irish music. The staff was friendly and efficient. The gift shop has some nice souvenirs all except for some clothing was made in Ireland which is refreshing. This is a nice stop after a hike... More

Family went on June 20th. We had a great meal and the lamb special was one of the favorites of our trip. The music was excellent and so were the two dancers. Crowd was singing along to the music and all seemed to have a great time. My daughter was even told by the manager how to spell her name... More
