We visited for dinner one evening. The place was packed, but service was quick and efficient. The food was excellent and this was the only place in our ten days in Ireland where lamb was on the menu. The lamb was cooked to perfection, as were the other items. The desserts were some of the best we had. A three... More

Every time i go back to Killarney i make sure i visit Kate's for lunch for a bite to eat. The food is always a very good standard and reasonably priced too. I had the Roast Kerry Lamb which was delicious again. I've had the Lamb and Seafood Chowder on previous visits and i'm looking forward to having them again... More

Dear Lord. This is the stuff to make you cringe. Paddywhackery at it's worst. The place is smoky from the fire, full of visitors who are looking for all things 'Oirish' and a bit cramped and dingy inside. Leprechauns of all sizes shapes and poses are on sale, with mini Irish cottages, Celtic crosses and all their like for sale,... More

We ate here yesterday evening. I ordered the bacon and cabbage and was looking forward to a hearty dinner...what I got instead was a plate of what looked like slops!! A mountain of wet cabbage, sitting in a bed of water, with fatty bacon thrown on top, finished with parsley sauce everywhere!! I still can't believe that they served that... More

Our tour bus in late July 2014 brought us here for supper. We all wished that the food was as good as the live music and dance, but that was not to be. My salmon was desiccated and the service was rudely deficient. All in our party were disappointed.

While hiking in Kerry on the Bank Holiday weekend we arranged to eat in the restaurant in Kate Kearney`s Cottage. The food was not up to the standard I have come to expect as we have eaten there regularly and we were expecting the usual good standards. Unfortunately this was not the case and the food was below par. The... More

As a local to Killarney we visit Kate Kearneys on a regular basis. The menu though not extensive is very tasty. On our last visit we had the goats cheese tartlet, the soup , roast of the day and chicken curry. Portions were of a generous size and the food was delicious. Prices were very reasonable, staff and service were... More

Being originally from Killarney we always make a point of visiting Kate's when we're back. Our recent visit did not disappoint. There were four in our party and we all enjoyed our meals. I opted for the lamb shank which did not disappoint. The meat just fell away from the bone. The night we went there was an traditional Irish... More
