Great Boxty's

We popped in after touring the ring of Kerry all day hoping for an early dinner. Even without reservations, a table was arranged. The place was crowded at 6:30pm. We had the Boxty's and a starter for 22 euro each. The lamb stew had a slight curry, chicken had tarragon and the beef stronganoff was... read more

We came to Ireland with some trepidation as to what/where we would eat for three weeks.....we have found the food throughout Ireland to be delicious and quite varied. The Bricin was so good, we returned the next night with more friends to enjoy it one more time. Both nights we showed up at the door at around6:00pm and were offered... More

This restaurant is a gem! While staying in Killarney, my husband and I popped in to Bricin one night for dinner- and we're so glad we did! The service was wonderful, the ambiance was perfect- nice but cozy without being stuffy. And the food! Oh my.. we both had the boxty (of course!) my husband had the lamb while I... More

We arrived late in Killarney and most of Ireland restaurants do not serve later as they do in the U.S. The manager ( or perhaps the owner) told us that they could not serve us, but took a look at us, felt my daughter's pulse and ushered us into a perfect seat. The place was full of fun, and great... More

We dined at Bricin while touring Killarney. The restaurant is above a craft shop which, when open, you can browse for various souvenirs. The specialty here is the boxty, an Irish traditional dish made of griddled potato pancake with a choice of filling (chicken and vegetables in a tarragon sauce, lamb and vegetables in a curry sauce, or ratatouille); the... This place was really busy when we popped in on a Tuesday night. We didn't have a reservation but after a short wait we were shown to our table. I was a little concerned that maybe they'd be understaffed but no need to worry. We shared a plate of crab claws with two lovely breads. This was followed by rack... More

This is a restaurant that makes you feel very comfortable. The décor is warm and inviting, the welcome and service is Irish at its best and the food is great. We shared their signature dish,

This was a highlight of our evening meals. My daughter ordered rack of lamb and I enjoyed one of the chops. It was the most tender lamb I ever ate (medium-rare)! My wife and I each had a Boxty, lamb for me and Beef Stroganoff for my wife. Atmosphere and service were excellent. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stopped by Bricin our first night in Killarney with our three month old. The restaurant was slammed and Johnny, one of the owners informed us that they were all booked up. He went out of his way to call down the street to another restaurant to see if they had any availability and when they didn't... More
