Description: Ard Bia at Nimmos restaurant in Galway City enjoys one of Galways most romantic locations in a gorgeous upstairs room with lovely views of the river, hard by the Spanish Arch. This restaurant is famous in Galway and beyond for the stupendous quality of its cuisine and its professional and welcoming service, all in a charming setting. The dcor is rustic boho chic with quirky details. You might find fresh local garden blooms on your table in a tin coffee pot, for instance. The seasonally-changing Irish/Moroccan/North African eclectic menu blows you away with dishes like the Gubeen antipasto dish, all made with the finest and freshest of local ingredients. Ard Bias commitment to live and modern art make it a happening place, though if you just want to come for the great food and service and see why the restaurant won Regional Restaurant of the Year from Food & Wine Magazine, no one will mind.

The food here is amazing & unique! I had the Berlin Breakfast, a mix of chunky ham, chutney, amazing homemade soda bread, cheese etc. The cakes looked amazing, but too full to try... Definitely when I return! A very quirky restaurant against a lovely backdrop setting of Galway water.

Visited Ard Bia at Nimmo's recently for Sunday brunch. A very interesting menu with lots of local and organic foods on the menu. The spiced ham on the brunch menu is fantastic. I tasted the pancakes also and they were great. The deco is super cute, the staff very friendly and although it was jammed that day, the service was... More

I have visited Ard Bia twice for lunch & once for brunch on all occasions with my Mom. It has a quirky vintage vibe with the decor. The staff were v friendly & as I was heavily pregnant seating us quickly. There is middle eastern influence to many of the dishes & plenty of choice. The food suppliers are all... More

My boyfriend and I went here on Sunday for brunch based on the menu we viewed on the website. The restaurant is in a beautiful location on the Spanish Arch in Galway right beside the Galway Museum. We arrived around 12.30pm (a late brunch!) and were third in the queue for the table. While we were waiting a waitress came... More

Ard Bia is in a perfect setting, in an old stone retrofitted building by the Spanish Arch and the Claddagh. The atmosphere is rough-hewn and eclectic, with beautiful stoneware and photographs of horses and drawings of unicorns decorating space that feels instantly warm and inviting. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. The small kitchen turns out expertly prepared food... More

It's not something bad, they are slow cooking which means that the cook with a lot of care. The food was great. Maybe a bit expensive and you need to go there if you're not in a hurry. But you'll enjoy it.

Fabulous vegetarian baklava and meat loving husband also thought that his steak was amazing. And as for the chocolate pot dessert, absolute beauty and perfection. All with great service, can't recommend it highly enough.

My husband and I booked a table for our wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. The staff was incredibly friendly and even offered suggestions as to what to order. We enjoyed two started, but one would ease all suffice, as the portions are quite large. Our main courses were to die for! I had an eggplant(aborigine) dish, that was... More

When we visit Galway we always go at weekends for breakfast in Nimmo's - the staff are friendly - the food is really good. A bit pricey but so worth it...the location and atmosphere are priceless!
