Description: Ard Bia at Nimmos restaurant in Galway City enjoys one of Galways most romantic locations in a gorgeous upstairs room with lovely views of the river, hard by the Spanish Arch. This restaurant is famous in Galway and beyond for the stupendous quality of its cuisine and its professional and welcoming service, all in a charming setting. The dcor is rustic boho chic with quirky details. You might find fresh local garden blooms on your table in a tin coffee pot, for instance. The seasonally-changing Irish/Moroccan/North African eclectic menu blows you away with dishes like the Gubeen antipasto dish, all made with the finest and freshest of local ingredients. Ard Bias commitment to live and modern art make it a happening place, though if you just want to come for the great food and service and see why the restaurant won Regional Restaurant of the Year from Food & Wine Magazine, no one will mind.

We stopped in to Ard Bia for a quick bowl of soup and tea during our stay in Galway. It was a lovely place, with lots of character and bustle. The vegetable soup(served with brown bread of course) was tasty and the pot of tea was generous. As I paid the bill, I marveled at the wildness of the River... More

I always enjoy nimmos- from tasty but quirky food, elderflower bubbly, unusual twists- it's all a treat.

Super accommodating, as we had to change the time of our reservation 2x. We had a corner table that was the perfect spot for our family to wrap up our wonderful trip. The food was delicious due to the local and seasonal ingredients.

Excellent chef; locally sourced wholesome food; and a fantastic atmosphere. One of the very best in Galway (and that is saying quite a lot).

I love this little Galway gem! I used to come here often for a nice glass of wine on rainy evenings (all too common in Galway). The food is delicious and they seem to change the menu fairly frequently keeping things fresh and seasonal. I highly recommend this spot. Nice spot right on the Corrib River.

We dropped into this little hideaway restaurant only to be offered the most delightful array of wines and fine food - we stayed in the Herons Rest Boutique B&B close by and we really delighted with everything on offer , no complaints - definitely will return

Knowing that we were going to be stopping in Galway as part of a tour of Ireland, I made a reservation for 4 at Nimmo's based on the reviews on TA before leaving on the trip. And once again, the reviews were right on the money. We arrived at 6:00 PM on a Thursday and was given a choice of... More

Booked here having browsed through the cookbook in a book shop. I really liked the style and tone of the book and thought the resturant would be worth a try. Atomosphere was nice, mellow soulful house music in the background and I was intrigued by the menu. Had 3 courses from the evening menu. Starter portion of langoustine salad a... More

I loved this place as soon as I walked in. Atmosphere was great and the staff were ever so friendly and helpful; giving us tips for our onward journey. We didn't need to have a full three course meal and opted for a starter each with some extra greens and indulging on the pudding. The mussels in cherzio, harrissa and... More
