Excellent seafood in a hidden jewel

Small restaurant - 5 tables and enough seating/standing room for probably only 15 people. We stopped in on the advice of our daughter who had eaten there before. Only employee was the chef/owner and the other 3 or 4 folks in there were clearly locals who knew the chef well. We had the fish... read more

The scampi is delicious! Make sure to try it! The staff are always so polite and cheerful as well, it's just a quaint little fish shop -I love it! It's defiantly a lot nicer than the famous Mc Donagh's! Price is good too!

Made a new friend in Galway. Yoan from Wild Rover tours told us about this place so we stopped in and met Gerald, and he's a fantastic guy. His food is par excellence, with fresh made fish and garlic chips. Takes a little while longer than usual but it's worth it. Lots of fishy bites and plenty of other things... More

Some of the tastiest food I experienced in Ireland. This fish and chips and seafood joint is a cut above the rest, serving up huge portions of VERY fresh fish in a casual setting. It resembles a fast food stand; it isn't exactly a restaurant but more of a take-away food stand with some indoor seating. There are a few... More

We stopped in Galway after visiting the Cliff of Moher ad west coast of Ireland and this place was recommended for best food. Small, quaint and cozy place with friendly service and delicious & fresh food! They have received awards many consecutive years and you will taste why. The prices and quality are superb! You cannot leave Galway without eating... More

Kettle of Fish become my addiction for a while. Although its more well known for the fish, you have to try the chicken goujons!! The chicken goujons with a Curry chips (best curry chips ive ever eaten) and a can of coke is an amazingly satisfying mean. Especially after a night out or a hangover day.

Had a delicious salmon fish and chips here. Would definitely recommend going for the food. It's a fast-casual environment which seems simple enough, but the service was awful. Got served cod first, which they not-so-happily replaced when I pointed it out. Other customers had been sitting much longer than us and were not served - caused some angry uproars and... More

1 seafood chowder: awful 1 deep fried calamari: almost awful 6 oysters: the only (probably fresh) seafood they could't waste by cooking it. I'm sure you folks have talent for many things. Not for cooking and serving fish, I'm afraid. Customers keep out!

I go to Galway a few times a year. I always try to go to Kettle of Fish. Yet again I had a lovely fish and chips meal. No queues. No hassle of finding a seat. Yes, a bit of a wait - which means, that yes, they cook the fish fresh!!! Chips too! Lovely fresh cod, crispy batter, served... More
