Great fresh fish, tasty chips

I go to Galway a few times a year. I always try to go to Kettle of Fish. Yet again I had a lovely fish and chips meal. No queues. No hassle of finding a seat. Yes, a bit of a wait - which means, that yes, they cook the fish fresh!!! Chips too! Lovely fresh cod, crispy batter, served... read more

I’ve had amazing fish and chips three times in my life and this was one of them. In other words, I’m inclined to agree with the other reviewers who claim this is the best they’ve had. (The other two amazing places were in the UK.) The people beside us had curry & cheese chips which smelled great. I’d definitely split... More

Not sure what's going on here. Used to be great but recently had a very poor experience. Smoked haddock in particular was like rubber.

We left it a little late on Saturday night to be getting served in most of the pubs and we didn't want to be on the waiting list in the restaurants we were proper hungry so we remembered seeing a chippy in town, you can't go wrong with a bag of chips! Wrank! Is the only word, honestly don't bother,... More

A little restaurant-take away, we kept the Classic finger fish and chips! The fish was very fresh, a little fatty For my taste, too much oil, but not bad! The local is nice and the service is good and fast! Well done and good choice!

On Saturday, a very cold and breezy day my husband and I were looking for a place to eat as it was time for lunch. We passed it as we were going first to the market around Saint Nicholas Collegiate Church. There was one young man Damian, from County Clare holding the fort as it were. We ordered chowder and... Excellent quality food, great taste and great value. Staff extremely friendly, helpful and professional. However, it is difficult to tell from the exterior that such quality food and service on the inside exists. Delighted I did dine here, will definitely be back and also recommend it to people.

This is a great little spot in Galway with lovely fresh food, good portions and very reasonable prices. Best battered sausages about and the chicken goujons are to die for. Fish is always lovely and fresh and the batter they use for everything is the best batter I have ever tasted. If you are looking for a nice comfort meal... More

Last time I was in this place a few years ago, it was fairly new and seemed to be going for a boutique chip shop vibe, serving almost gourmet style food in modern setting. Today, it seems the years have taken their toll on the interior and it could do with a refresh. However, the food was really good, just... More

Back here again and it was even better than last time. Tempura prawns, tartar sauce served in an oyster shell, a delicious salad with radish and the best ever chips with crispy bits-HEAVEN
