Renovations were needed but staff just hadnt a clue. Never amount to anything under current ownership.

We visited the site on our way back from the Connemara Golf Club to our Hotel in Galway. The first Impression is really professional and up-to-date. The refurbishment that was done here is Brilliant. A lot of good details and a fitting total appearence. The design concept looks very good. Internally we faced the Same facts that were mentioned Before.... More

This place really looks the part and they have done a fantastic job of renovating the building. Although it is often quiet, the bonus to this is that you can often get a cosy seat, and enjoy a good chat over a glass of wine. The food is extremely mediocre. Another reviewer has mentioned the "overgarnishing", and I could not... More

This building was in turning into ruins, and the owner fixed it up to fantastic effect! Cool industrial fixtures, etc. We loved finding it, and that evening, there was some Irish music being played on the sofa downstairs. I see that some people have complained about the food/service, but we found it to be fine - just sit back and... More

I eat here with my familt recently - the menu was not cheap and the presentation decent but the food was pretty bad. The Pizza was a Margarita and had a nice base et c but was destroyed with some kind of dry herb mix which made it impossible to taste anything else. The Burger looked great but was overgarnished... To be honest, I like the food. The main issue with this is the large venue that never seems full. It is never crowded. The main issue is the service. The staff just simply isn't that interested in customer service. Almost no eye contact ...if you eat upstairs (kitchen downstairs) then the food is sometimes cold. Portions not great.....in general,... More

The Co-op is an old market place that has been renovated. Great food and live music. An ideal place to stop on your way to or from Connemara.
