Look out for this place when everywhere is busy!

I came here when all the other cafes were packed out and busy, you don't really know it's around because you have to go up some stairs but it's a bright calm and spacious place to stop for lunch. Friendly staff, but be warned their cakes are evil ;)

My last 2 visits have been poor to be honest. Carvery was much better! I had chicken for lunch on one visit, was ok, plain! Breakfast is a no no, bacon tasted off , as did the eggs.! Breakfast roll was also cold after 5 min, half was left behind. The teapot was old and broken, lid was loose, so... More

I came with my son for breakfast, the food was not great to be honest, The order was wrong twice, and it wasn't that busy, would have helped had she written the order down instead of trying to remember it. The tea pots were old and broken and spilled tea all over the table. The small things can make a big... More

According to our friend (who's a local), having breakfast here is something of a tradition. And it really is quite good. Full Irish breakfast recommended.

First of all get a table near the front window. It's the best " people watching " spot in Galway with a great view of Shop Street and its historic buildings. Next order the breakfast. They have a unique " potato cake" best served with " the full Irish" or the veggie option. Also ask for a coffee refill ..... More

it is not a bad place, sometimes food isn't always great. it is a bit of confusing when you walk in where to go, and there a long stairs up to it, not a bad place.

Lynch's had been a favorite while we were living in Ireland. For many years it was my "local" place to get a meal (as simple as tea and homemade scones or a full on dinner) in a most relaxed atmosphere. It has been renovated and updated in the 3 years I've been away and there is table service now but... More

Stopped by for coffee and dessert and discovered this gem. Strawberries and cream was never surpassed the rest of our trip. So glad we decided to climb the stairs. Wished I got the fruit cake available to take out.
